Yes. Those are the steps for the Deadmines pet battle scenario.

The Timewalking Black Temple? It's definitely true and happening. They called that out specifically in their announcement about the PTR.

Don't think it will be story-related though. Just something for us to do unrelated to the actual story progression, like dungeon timewalking.

Will it be the whole of Deadmines, it is rather a long walk from one end of the dungeon to the other. Pet fights are fun the walking between boring.
I also hope the drop rate of the pets from the bag are not as bad as the wailing caverns is looking like. Okay it has only been 3 weeks but I've yet to see a pet drop /sigh

Updated the OP with a little more information on the new pets and Deadmines Pet Battle Dungeon.

The PTR was up briefly and I managed to get some [url=http://wowpetaddiction.blogspot.com/2017/04/725-ptr-three-new-pets-deadmines-pet.html]screenshots[/url] of the new pets. (Love Tricorne's little hat!)

1) The maps would seem to suggest it is the entire instance, yes. Judging by WC, that would make sense as well. I actually think DM is smaller than WC though.

2) The Pocket Cannon is a pet. It has, at the moment, a unique and cute ability set.

The Deadmines Challenge achievement no longer awards a pet. Instead, the Pocket Cannon (and the other two previously dropped pets) now come from a vendor.

The NPC that sends you into the scenario sells the three pets for a new currency, Old Bottle Cap. You can earn one Cap per week from the Challenge version of Deadmines Pet Battle Dungeon. (This Challenge quest no longer rewards Mr. Smite's Supplies.)

Pocket Cannon - 3 Caps
Tricorne - 2 Caps
Pet Reaper 50 - 1 Cap

It will take a total of 6 weeks to collect all three pets. Bind on Pick Up and now no longer cageable (they were in a previous PTR build).

Huzzah, this is a preferred method. Goals to work for rather than RNG! A little sad you can't do something to sell them, but it is fairly simply available to anyone who cares to get it.

The Deadmines Challenge achievement awards a pet again, but now it's the Mining Monkey!

Also 2 new pets from Rogue pickpocketing. Both are currently cageable - hopefully that's intended so non-Rogues can collect these pets too.

I noticed this on the patch notes for 7.2.5 today under the UI section:

* Unobtainable battle pets are now hidden from the list unless collected.

I'm not really sure what all would qualify as an Unobtainable Pet, but I'm guessing TCG pets? Old xpac collectors edition pets?

Anyhow, I've often found myself looking up these types of pets in the pet journal just to look at them and 'check em out'.

Example: If I see someone with a really kool pet that I haven't seen before (possibly unobtainable now).... typically I will go to my pet journal and search it so I can see all the fun details.

So I guess this change means we can't look at these unobtainable pets in our pet journal anymore?

That's an interesting change they made. Thanks for the heads up [profile]Railwolf[/profile].

Logging in and checking it out, it looks like "unobtainable" means region-specific pets. I'm seeing old expansion pets, TCG, promotional, and other "rare" pets, but pets such as [pet]Tiny Green Dragon[/pet] (from Promotion: iCoke China) are no longer visible in the Pet Journal.

I'm guessing anniversary pets and event-specific pets (such as [pet]Spirit of Competition[/pet]) are also no longer visible in the Pet Journal if you haven't collected them. Can anyone that hasn't collected one of these pets confirm this?

I'm unable to see Spirit of Competition or Tiny Green Dragon in my Pet Journal.

I can see all of the Collector's Edition pets are still there.

haha, side-note... The Mini Diablo pet from the World of Warcraft Collector's Edition is labeled as "Collectors Edition" instead of "Collector's Edition" like all of the other ones. So if you search "Collector's Edition" in your pet journal you'll see all of them EXCEPT for the Mini Diablo (spelling continuity problem).
