is there a way to join a guild that has this achievement so I can get this pet?

It was removed from the guild vendor when Warloards was released.

Apparently it can still be found, rarely, in a container on the BMAH.

Which for my tastes is a cup of lousy and ugly coffee.

I have yet to be able to "open" the BMAH on my Alliance, or Horde toons, and I'm still doing quests ... I think one of them has like 30K Oil (and not from the Jungle!) ... the whole thing is getting ridiculous, and I can't even get the one pet from the Spires either.

You can visit the BMAH in the Underbelly of New Dalaran, Boralus, and just outside of Dazar'alor on the southeastern coast. Unlocking the NPC for your garrison only allows you to view what's on the BMAH, you cannot bid through it.
