"Your level is too low to use that item"

Hi guys,

I noticed lately when buying pets on level 10 auction house characters, with certain pets which you have to click to learn, I suddenly get the message "Your level is too low to use that item". This is definitely new as I've never had this before. Anyone know what the minimum required level is to be able to get these pets in my pet journal? Or better yet, some workaround?

The simple work around would be post them to a higher level character

There are a number of Bind On Use battle pets that have a level requirement to use the pet item. Not sure if this also applies to a caged version of the pet though.

Sentinel's Companion is an example of a pet item with the required level of 40.

Also, that’s indeed a workaround, just not when this involves a realm I only use for pet trading and thus have no higher level toons on.
