You don't.
The devs at Blizzard tossed the idea around years ago but nothing ever came of it, thank goodness. Biggest question was how an Epic pet would differ from the pets we're familiar with. Would seem unfair to suddenly throw in a pet that was inherently better than all the existing ones and there'd be a fierce uproar from the PvP pet battlers.

Screw the PvP'ers... PvE is where the action is

At the time it was not the PvP angle that killed this but the time it would take to upgrade pet collections
