Reset Pet Battles if you mess up?

I just had the fortune of losing a rare Wild Jade Hatchling because I was trying to power level some low level pet and died in the process; can you alt+F4 out of the pet fight to save the pet or something?

Unfortunately exiting the battle in any fashion will despawn the pet and the team accompanying it.

The alt+F4/logging out method used to work prior to patch 5.1, but developers removed it (for now).

If I'm not mistaken, the only way to leave a pet battle without de-summoning the pet is to become engaged in combat. Having a friend or guildie with a character of the opposing come find you and tap you into combat works, but it's a lot of hassle.

Queing for a Random Scenario will also respawn the pet . All you have to do is just port out of the instance do the battle fast then port back in.

It works. LFR queue popped on me last night while trying to catch a rare. Got pulled into the instance during the pet battle and my rare was waiting for me when I quickly zoned back out in a mild panic.

Damn, that is so good to know... I lost my 40 minute LFR queue the other day because I wan't losing my rare. lol I do remember hearing this now that I think about it... I won't forget now.

On the ptr (5.2 patch), the pet will instantly respawn if you forfeit. Same battle, same quality, same everything. It will not respawn if you accidently kill the 1st pet though.

This works great if you join a battle and realize you're low on health or have the wrong pets. No more need to alt+f4

If you lose by having all your pets die, I think it resets the battle pet too.

Lost a rare crimson hatchling yesterday and couldn't reset the fight.
I had brough him very low when he cast his scourged earth.
And I could not change the weather anymore without damaging him to death.
I was pretty annoyed ...
