500 pets!?

Possibly a placeholder number, but wouldn't it be great! considering how many zones there are and the rate we are finding new pets i wouldn't be surprised if it stayed close to this number.

I wonder if 500 is just a guesstimate (rounded waaaay up) of how many there are or if Blizzard really intends to make that many companions available for us to collect.

Considering wild pets have random stats, you might be able to have multiple in your journal at one time. Which while the total number of pets in game is ~200, you could have up to another 300 extra. This is all conjecture.
