Just For Fun, Are There Any Pets You Hate To Level?
Undead for many of the reasons stated above.
Flying mainly because it doesn't do a lot of damage, receives a ton, and personally I am absolutely DONE with watching another frog skin appear on my screen. Maybe that's why I avoid aquatic areas unless I am killing the pet spawns so rares pop up.

I use Spirit Crab vs Chirrup and Stormlash following this strat for power leveling pets:Graven wrote:Was wondering that. I just use Anubisath Idol for Aki - he can easily solo her first two pets, and put a dent into the third.Yalina wrote:Who do you use him for on Aki?

My results have been consistently good, so I'm keeping to the strat for now. I find that I still get screwed by RNG a lot on Stormlash when using Anubisath Idol.

Fair enough. I'll just tell you how it works for me, though, since there is very little RNG-luck involved.Threnody wrote:My results have been consistently good, so I'm keeping to the strat for now. I find that I still get screwed by RNG a lot on Stormlash when using Anubisath Idol.
Start with Anubisath; keep Stoneskin up and Chirrup can't even scratch you, as his only damaging attack is Swarm. When Chirrup is dead, use Deflection on the first round against Stormlash, so you don't get spanked by his Call Lightning. Then you can just punch him down with your fist attack (human vs dragon) while he tries to Tail Sweep you. Stoneskin will block the extra attack from Tail Sweep, and completely negates the damage from the lightning storm.
I usually kill Stormlash with around 500-600 health left allowing me to put a dent into the third pet, the otter. Then I just switch in a lowbie pet for one round, then finish off the otter with flying pet of choice (Gilnean Raven for me).
*edit* Tail Sweep, not Tail Lash

Oh, I like them well enough once they're leveled; my Lost of Lordaeron is one of my favorites. It's just getting them there that can be painful.Threnody wrote: Please don't hate my Spirit Crab. He's awesome Especially against Aki the Chosen.

That is pretty much what I do. Useful > cool/unusual > generic/common.Ishildur wrote:Now anything that turns out to have a really awesome ability that would help me immediately gets to jump the leveling queue. Useful > cool/rareish > generic/common. There just isn't anything terribly exciting about leveling yet another snake with yet another same exact set of snake abilities as the last 4 snakes.
That said, I find that (on average) I have been working on my highest and lowest level pets at the same time. I stick a pet I want to level specifically on my Nishi team, then I have one leveling team with my (currently) lowest level pet, one with my (currently) highest level pet and a third with just some pet that interests me. Which team I use at any given time depends on what I am fighting.

Actually, it's the Idol being slower than Stormlash that means no second hit from Tail Sweep, not the shield.Graven wrote:Stoneskin will block the extra attack from Tail Sweep, and completely negates the damage from the lightning storm.

Aye. No need to be embarrassed; you're right.Syrrie wrote:Actually, it's the Idol being slower than Stormlash that means no second hit from Tail Sweep, not the shield.Graven wrote:Stoneskin will block the extra attack from Tail Sweep, and completely negates the damage from the lightning storm.

Fun thread
I hate to level snakes and the like, just like I hate battling them.
Don't know why, just hate doing it 0.o

Most animals and critters are quite uninteresting to me. But I leveled a shimmershell snail because of its elemental killing provess.

Spiders, but then again I don't like them in the real world either.

I am not a fan of critter types to level. I think most of them are generic as other posters have mentioned and have too few powerful abilities. I like the idea of apacolypse, but my battles are often finished before 15 rounds.

Re: Just For Fun, Are There Any Pets You Hate To Level?
I'm not really averse to leveling a specific type of pet, but rather I prefer leveling rare versions of pets with one breed, or one that I'm positive I have the breed I want. That way I'm not worried I'll waste time leveling one I end up not liking. Its pretty easy to level though with just trainers so I'll get to them all in time
Re: Just For Fun, Are There Any Pets You Hate To Level?
I do all my leveling these days by 2v3ing the grand master tamers, so it barely matters what my leveling pets are. When I was still leveling by grinding wild pet battles, though, it really was the Pandaria pets that bugged me the most. Everything was aquatics, beasts, flyers, and critters, with so many overused models.
I've already leveled everything to 25, so what I'm mainly doing now is replacing pets with bad breeds and leveling pets to sell.
