Curious Wolvar Pup - Get it now!
http://www.warcraftpets.com/wow-pets/humanoid/miscellaneous/curious-wolvar-pup/
Its available as one of two choices for completing the Northrend Childrens Week questline.
Its one of the rare doublecounter pets, being a humanoid with beast abilities that simply tears critters a new one while resisting their attacks. As well having breed 4, ( power / power )
In comparision, the Curious Oracle Hatchling is a lot less powerful and useful, being a poor breed 3 (Balance) with mediocre abilities

And I would also recommend you make sure you get Scooter the Snail. I use him for many of my trainer battles. For the pets from Shattrath (Outland), I would recommend you get Peanut as your first choice. Peanut because his breed is H/H. And have fun this week!

You can get both pets if you still don't have them, just do the quest line on 2 different toons.

I'm trying to figure if I should bother with these. I know they aren't cageable, but blizz would do something like change that and I'll be left with no trade pieces

Just so you know the Wolvar and Oracle pets are not cageable but the other 8 childrens week pets are.

Yeah, makes no sense to me why they did that.
Re: Curious Wolvar Pup - Get it now!
The wolvar pup is definitely the better choice for battling, although the hatchling does have some cute animations. Yeah, making some of them tradeable and some not is... odd.
Re: Curious Wolvar Pup - Get it now!
Considering the extreme amount of critter wild pets. The wolvar pup is a superb choice for a wild pet battler. Hence why I mentioned this with the limited window of opportunity to aquire it.

Oh I agree, he's very powerful. I use him for the beast of fable critters & he's my starter (teamed with Kun lai runt & whatever that humanoid pet from BWL is with the impale ability) he can solo them for the most part.

I'm afraid I can't agree with the OP, you don't want to get the Curious Wolvar Pup now.
You want to GET THEM ALL NOW!!!!!

Yes, stone the wolvar pup at the first opportunity. He's the ultimate critter destroyer.Luciandk wrote:Considering the extreme amount of critter wild pets. The wolvar pup is a superb choice for a wild pet battler. Hence why I mentioned this with the limited window of opportunity to aquire it.

Re: Curious Wolvar Pup - Get it now!
I have some extra Curious Wolvar Pups and 18 extra humanoid stones and was wondering if it would be worth making a team of 3 pups. I haven't learned them yet... they are just sitting in my bank.
