Minfernal trick dead?

Hiya everyone. Finally had some freetime the other day and decided to try the CRZ flight path trick to get me a Minfernal. After several flights back and forth to finally get one close enough to target, I got a new message when I hit my 'Battle RIGHT NOW!' macro: 'You can not pet battle while on a transport'

Ouch. That hurt me right in the freetime. I even have a Magic stone set aside for when I get my paws on the bugger. Can anyone else verify if blizz did indeed fix the flight path farming trick with 5.3? Or is this is a standard message that's been around for awhile; and I just need to keep at it?
