Did 5.3 make DMF battle harder?

I know it changed the Beasts of Fable fights but did they stealth buff the DMF pets? I'm having a MUCH harder time this month. I'd built a team that won except in rare bad luck situations and now I'm on my tenth attempt and feeling as frustrated as the BoF fights have made me.

I feel, if anything, it is easier because his pets have a higher miss rate than most other trainers. Missile 90% and Smash 85%. If you use a couple of Fel Flames or Searing Scorchlings they can easily counter the first 2 pets and work on the monkey a bit for the pet you want to get exp.

RNG gods at work. I too had a bad time but in the third (forth?) try it worked like a charm.

I have not had any problems with the normal team that I use for the DMF trainer.

I hadn't beat him at all last time, and I got him this time. I can't really speak to him being harder.

I will stop complaining about my luck for a few days though. I got the Eye in the first bag I've ever opened from him.
