5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Why are they taking out Dark Dark Simulacrum? Are the undead teams using it too much?
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Only see one pet that truly can take advantage of Rot. Willy appears to be the only pet possessing Simulacrum that also have a critter attack.
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
I actually don't see the purpose to the change to the Zeppelin. The ability shuffle is fairly minor.Exel wrote:Hate to see the Zepp being nerfed YET AGAIN. It pains me to see op moves like Wish on 5 rnds cd and moves like Decoy on 8.
The dragonling though makes decoy and explode exclusive to one another.
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
I'm very happy about this. I guess I better start doing the dailies on the same server (to be able to mail stones around).Ryazan wrote:Cheers @ battle stone exchange (about time tho).

Oh, duh I'm dumb Yea I misread the tooltip positions. Thanks for catching thatKring wrote:How do you read that? Formatting looks like it's one line per slot but the order suggests that it's ordered by level?
Corrected ability positions for the Current and PTR versions (Zepp):
Current
1 - Missile, Thunderbolt
2 - Flyby, Decoy
3 - Bombing Run, Explode
PTR
1 - Missile, Flyby
2 - Bombing Run, Explode
3 - Thunderbolt, Decoy
I definitely hope that they use this new faction tag mechanic for the Darkmoon direwolf world boss. Heck, I hope they change the Darkmoon Rabbit too.Gromagrim wrote:If they make it tap to faction and aimed for a 25 man group I'll be happy, you'll get it advertised in trade chat etc. with personal loot, that's all gravy.
It was never fun watching people get removed from the Darkmoon Rabbit raid for silly reasons. It would always result in griefing from those that were removed, basically hindering any type of boss kill. =\

I think Dark Simulacrum never worked as intended so they just decided to remove it.Yalina wrote:Why are they taking out Dark Dark Simulacrum? Are the undead teams using it too much?

There's some pictures at http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/ for those interested. Excited already!!

It's still not clear how the virtual realms will work exactly, and which realms will be tied together. It's very likely some virtual realms will end up with a bigger economy than Illidan, with more available pets when combined on the AH, than a single server. Or we may even find some low pops tied into servers such as Illidan.Opallena wrote:DM rabbit all over again. guess ill have to start saving gold on illidan server *sigh*
This may make finding pets on your local server AH MUCH easier. Crossing my fingers that it's true..I hate seeing new Throne of Thunder pets for sale on high pop servers for 10k, and either non existant or 50k+ on my own.
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Just leveled a Willy to toy with it once 5.4 comes out. will be interesting to see just what it can do with the new Rot spell that changes a target's race to undead for the duration.
Imagine what it means:
Aquatics can kiss dot resistance good bye.
Fliers loose all their speed.
And you become vulnerable to Willy's Tongue Lash as its critter damage. Only con is that if Willy kills the rotter, they might get a free turn of immortality. But the potential for upsetting plans and strategies is staggering.
Edit: I just realize that Rot means you tailor your team to counter undead as long you can keep them dotted with rot, and always have high damage against undead.

Your edit is what I was thinking yesterday. This will end up being a bit OP for that reason. Will have to see how long the duration is when it goes live. but anything like 4 rounds will, imho be op.Luciandk wrote:Just leveled a Willy to toy with it once 5.4 comes out. will be interesting to see just what it can do with the new Rot spell that changes a target's race to undead for the duration.

Rot
3 Turn Cooldown
95% Hit Chance
Rots the target's flesh, dealing 25 Undead damage and transforming them into Undead for 5 rounds.
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
So what would an effective counter to Rot be? The majority of the pets who will have this ability are undead, plus the Kirin Tor Familiar (elemental) and Willy (magic).
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Fast critters actually. A bunny. Pop dodge as rot likely will be initial move and laugh in his face as you continue to chew his undead rear to bits.Yalina wrote:So what would an effective counter to Rot be? Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Interesting, it changes nothing for me (Missile, Decoy, Bombing Run). Makes me wonder what OP combo I'm missing, cause I'm not seeing it. Thanks for the info!Quintessence wrote: Corrected ability positions for the Current and PTR versions (Zepp):

Excited about the stone exchange... about time that the stack of Undead stones in my bank had a use!
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Wondering if the Blue carp pet from fishing will be removed when with patch 5.4 they will remove the water and lakes in Vale of Eternal Blossom
From MMO Champ:
From MMO Champ:
The Vale of Eternal Blossoms has been drained dry of any water and corruption has spread throughout most of the Vale, damaging things. Unfortunately the Golden Pagoda did not survive, so you won't be able to do the Golden Lotus daily quests anymore! You can also see a new raid entrance under the center of what was once a lake.
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
I'd guess they'll just move it to another zone... but I think I better get on with farming this one just in case!Charien wrote:Wondering if the Blue carp pet from fishing will be removed when with patch 5.4 they will remove the water and lakes in Vale of Eternal Blossom
Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
They don't make pets that are unobtainable anymore. Even less with whole FACTION. I'd guess some sort of phasing/time travel will be available, Golden Lotus itself is something they can't just go /lol and scrap with achievements and 3 mounts they have.
It would also make Jewel Danio not obtainable, so I wouldn't worry at all.

Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
Well the old quest line achievement is becoming a FoS, and having seen some of the screenshots of the vale in 5.4, there's definitely some changes in store for the GL faction and the vale.
But your probably right about the pet (and mounts) and GL faction still being around in 5.4, it's really just a question of whether the pet will be easier or harder to get after the patch.

Re: 5.4 notes, (woohoo, exchange battle stones!)
El said on Twitter that the only place to catch the Jewel Danio is in the water by the Guo-Lai Halls, so I'm guessing the carp will still be available there.
