No PAWs on my minimap

for the past week the pawmarks indicating battles have gone from my minimap.
I tried everything I could think of to restore them. I went from realm to realm as this affected 2/5 on Cael, 2/6 on Frostmourne and 1/5 on Khaz, hoping to find a commonality between the haves and the havenots.

There didn't seem to be anything, so today I uninstalled then reinstalled WoW. (in total desperation)
there were the usual 2,2,1 haves.

the addons I use are: Auto Safari hat, Daily tamer check, pet journal enhanced , pet tracker and updates.

its a mystery to me, as up to a week ago, I had the paws on all the characters, so could play any of the low level alts with confidence.

I realise how stupid this must seem, but its driving me insane..INSANE I tells ya!

Hate to ask the obvious question but are you sure Track Pets is checked?

yes it is.

been through the ritual of turning it on and off, and in the off state, alts on frostmourne still have the marks...

There are 4 horde alts on Frostmourne who 'have' which is an improvement, but none on the Alliance chars on the two other continents.

You tried just disabling your addons one at a time, and see if any of them causes the problem?
a bit offtopic, but i think more addons is just asking for more trouble, i would advice you not to use any you could do without :)

yeah I tried disabling one by one. I deleted them all, reinstalled them one by one....oh well..

Try deleting the Cache folder in your WoW installation.

For me the issue was that I had Show Pets selected on the mini map...however the issue corrected for me after I made sure it was selected in the tracking menu itself. Years later but it may help someone else moving forward!
