Pet Collection Limit Cap

I noticed that there is a pet collection cap of 650 pets. Is there any news that the cap might be raised? I already have 557 unique pets and admittedly, a lot of duplicates. The duplicates are pets of different breeds and skins that I really don't want to get rid of. I'm wondering whether I should release some of them anyway before patch 5.4 hits. I suppose one can always cage up the cageable pets and store them but it'd be nice to see them all in my journal. Any advice?

It probably won't be raised until next xpack. Right now, most people are caping out at around 550 unique pets, and next patch will only add around 25 pets (assuming they all make it live). If 5.5 happens, it could be then but if not next xpack for sure.
