I hate Critical Hits!

My Stripe-Tailed Scorpid just blew my chance of catching a rare Squirrel. Squirrels health was about 420, and my Scorpid's hit should have done 378 damage. Squirrel died
Actually there's nothing I want to ask about that or so. Just sharing my pain

That's exactly why when I'm rare hunting I only use the Terrible Turnip. Weakening Blow will never kill.

If I am worried I switch to a pet with a weak or low hit.

I do the same thing.

Either that or a pet that has a weak attack against the pet that I'd like to capture. This sometimes backfires on me, though, especially if the wild pet can heal itself lol.

Crabs. They have a shield and a heal and a reasonably low-hitting pinch. I mean, the turnip is surer, but since I haven't run into one of those yet, I'm using a lovely little crab from one of my first pet battles to do most of my capturing.
