Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
Will you still be doing the tourney after you get all four pets? I'm wondering if I will personally. This next week I'll have the complete set. It's not that I hate doing it but for the time investment, it really doesn't give much after the pets. Three tokens for an unmarked stone, right? Three weeks time when I get several a day that can be turned into unmarked stones? The pet treat is nice but I can live with the lesser treats.
I'm just curious if you all will be doing after you get all the pets.

The only thing would be for the stones, but since all of my pets are rare already I will not be doing it.

It's also a decent amount of valor points. I will probably do it a couple times a month.

If I ever decide that I want a second (or third) of one or more of the pets, I will do it again. Otherwise, once I have all 4 pets, I will probably skip it.
Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
I *probably* won't continue doing it, as the other rewards don't interest me (I have pet treats stocked up already for next xpac, and a mountain of stones) but who knows, I might continue for a few weeks just to get a few more of the currency in case someday I need it for something. I tend to stockpile things, if that's not obvious already.

I'll probably continue doing it as it doesn't bother me much and doesn't take that much time IMO. I'll probably work on carry teams for the first 3 trainers or start mixing in higher level pets that need to finish leveling.
I still need to stone and level a few pets so either 50% pet food or the flawless stone looks nice.

I'll likely continue doing it for the pet treats, at least until I finish leveling everything to 25. After the pets, that's about the only thing that'd be worth it for me - I have more than enough stones for the next 2 expansions.
Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
Battle stones can be 1 - 2K depending on server. I do which it had a break in it though. Not so I could heal but just so I could stop. So many other things to do sometimes.
Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
You can't sell the stone though. I get you on the stop part. Sometimes it feels like I'm in and out while other times it seems to take so much longer.Tadedra wrote:Battle stones can be 1 - 2K depending on server. I do which it had a break in it though. Can you get more of them? I thought they were 1/1.Maizing wrote:If I ever decide that I want a second (or third) of one or more of the pets, I will do it again. Otherwise, once I have all 4 pets, I will probably skip it.
Is it worth the time investment though? It's one treat for one token and it only lasts an hour. That's the rub about it. Maybe if it was longer but I can get a pet from 1 to 25 in the time it takes to do the tourney. Or, hell, I'd think about it if the time was only used when in an actual pet battle or something but ...Labyrinthe wrote:I'll likely continue doing it for the pet treats, at least until I finish leveling everything to 25. Definately still worth doing kendrah, the pet treats alone make it worth while as you can speed your way thru leveling pets you need or want using them!

You are right... they are unique (I had not noticed that before). Well, I guess I will just stop once I have them all.Kendrah wrote:Can you get more of them? I use them in combination with the lesser pet treat (they stack, so with the safari hat it's like an 85% increase) while I burn through all the tamer dailies in Pandaria. Given RNG and having my teams set up beforehand, it can take about 10-15 pets from level 15 to level 25 or so in the space of an hour, give or take, so it's worth it to me.Kendrah wrote: Is it worth the time investment though? If I was to continue doing the Tourney, I wouldn't spend the Celestial Coins on buying Treats or Stones.
I'd save up the coins just in case Blizz decide to add more things to buy with them, or if the celestials could be bred and the process of doing that deletes 1 of them or something.

Good point, you never know what blizz can add to vendor for Celestial Coins.Kyozu wrote:If I was to continue doing the Tourney, I wouldn't spend the Celestial Coins on buying Treats or Stones.

I would probably still do Tournament just to try new combos and try some new pets I didn't had the time to see in action.
Tommorow I'll get my 3rd pet so I still got some time to enjoy the Tournament for it's true purpose: to get all celestial pets.
Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
Unless Blizz add something worthwhile, I can't see me doing this again any time soon. The tourny usually takes a fair chunk out of a night, so skipping it frees up time to do other stuff
Was still a good idea, shame it didn't have a longer life span :/

I'll probably keep doing it to stack food for the next expansion (I don't need any more at this moment nor upgrade stones ). It only takes 30-60 minutes unless you get a bad RNG.

Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
Short answer, I'm going to keep doing it because I stream it every week, so people having trouble can follow along.
If it weren't for that, it really depends on how the whole Garrison pet-breeding stuff works. If I can just go to the Garrison and squish all my greens into blues, I wouldn't do the Tourney anymore. If I can't do that, but it requires rares to get epics, then I'd definitely continue with the tourney for the rocks.
In general I'm going to keep on keepin on until we get more information about 6.0.

And at the very least, you can collect the stones to rarify tradable pets and sell them, which can make you significant funds. I make thousands of gold a week from selling raid pets, pandas, and the like, and I'm still stoning my own pet collection. I expect to triple my pet sales once I have finished stoning my collection.
Re: Tourney -- still worth doing after ...
Yeah. I had really, really, really bad RNG this last run. It's why I asked the question. My starter pet in one battle was stunned five times in a row (I start over -- I'm a perfectionist. XD!) Then a freakin' critter killed my poor Kun-lei runt... Heartbreaking. Took forever. Bleh. I just kept thinking that this would be my second to last tourney to get myself through it.GilroyKilroy wrote:I'll probably keep doing it to stack food for the next expansion (I don't need any more at this moment nor upgrade stones ). But... there was that tweet (https://twitter.com/mumper/status/399711140495626240) about blue stones upping chances for epics so who knows?
