They do exist, I eventually found one. It is level 17 (and common).
Maximus-Stormrage (through cross server) was saying in chat that he believes they're on a 3 hour timer.
Also, is the quiraji guardling up for the Aussies? If so, can you make a toon on an Oceanic server and catch one to get zookeeper now?

I don't think the Qiraji Guardling is up in any region. All servers follow northern hemisphere seasonal patterns, last I checked.Tiggindy wrote:Also, is the quiraji guardling up for the Aussies? If so, can you make a toon on an Oceanic server and catch one to get zookeeper now?

After 4 2 hour sessions on all unrelated servers I've concluded that these owls are in fact a myth...
Re: Snowy Owls...
I had a look last night on Aman'thul, and found a Snowy Owl, so it's winter on the Oceanic servers also.Tiggindy wrote:Also, is the quiraji guardling up for the Aussies? If so, can you make a toon on an Oceanic server and catch one to get zookeeper now?
Re: Snowy Owls...
They do exist! After getting an uncommon one that bugged out (more on that in a sec) I spent about an hour flying round while chatting to a GM. Second one I found was a rare, so was well chuffed.
A note on the bug: If the Snowy Owl casts tornado, it can get "stuck" and it's turn never ends. On the first one, I naturally quit the battle, but DON'T!! Pressing the print screen key, for some reason, unsticks it. The rare I was fighting did the exact same thing, and print screen really did un-bug it!
Also, kudos to the hunter and mage that we're CRZ with my lock on Azjol Nerub. They we're finding the owls, and telling people where they were if they were less than rare quality. Not ideal I know, but still very generous! Whizzle says hi /waves

On the plus side, I upgraded a couple of pets to rares but didn't manage to find a rare robo-chick before I decided to move on.
Same here .. [Midday / Afternoon] and I am actually wondering it the Owl is a nightspawn.
Can anyone confirm seeing / catching these by daylight?

They seem to reset with server resets. I saw 3 up before I stopped flying around this morning just after server reset. This was at 9:30 or so in the am.
Re: Snowy Owls...
The trick with resets is to sign on when the server goes down and leave the screen up showing the realms are down. Open another tab, surf the net and the instant your realm lights up, log on. This works for miniferal and the scourged whelpling as well. Have alts parked at those locations, you wont have time to fly there before they are gone.
Don't believe them when they give you a time the server will be up. That probably is an outside guess for them and they want realms up as fast as possible to minimize us whining. Same reason they overestimate time you have to wait at a restaurant.

Re: Snowy Owls...
What made you reach the conclusion that your server hasn't gotten any spawns? Is it because you haven't found any or noone has? Because if it's the former, then you're probably clogging the CS system with a useless ticket.Mantrhax wrote:No pets spwed in uldaman . i just openeda ticket, im not waiting another year for blizzard fault
Re: Snowy Owls...
It's not like you have to catch it today, you will have at least a couple of months to get it.Mantrhax wrote:No pets spwed in uldaman . i just openeda ticket, im not waiting another year for blizzard fault
Re: Snowy Owls...
Do they really exist? I've flown several times in several days - and no CRZ people to contend with that I could find - and not feather from these lovely birds could I find.

Keep looking, you'll find one eventually.Thralla wrote:Do they really exist? I've flown several times in several days - and no CRZ people to contend with that I could find - and not feather from these lovely birds could I find.
I'm not positive, but they might have a somewhat long respawn timer. So if someone just cleared all of them out, it may take a little bit for them to show up again. Not super long like "only spawns once per day", but they don't seem to pop up as frequently as Alpine Hares or Chipmunks.
Another method that you could try is to defeat the other pets in the area. By getting rid of them, it might give the owls a chance to spawn in their place. I don't know if the Snowy Owls share the same spawns as the other critters, though, but it could be worth testing.

Re: Snowy Owls...
Based on my experience earlier they don't share spawns.
I had the world server go down as I was about to cap a rare one. When I finally got back on after about 5 minutes the spawn was there, but it was a poor one. I went round the entire map and picked up pretty much every spawn (I think they had all respawned) and didn't get one rare.
I did, however, note that they seem to have their own spawn spots in spaces between Hares and Chipmunks. Invariably I would see a Hare or two, and then either another Hare or Chipmunk plus an Owl.
They all only seem to spawn once tho, and I don't know what the respawn timer is.
Arve,
gutted alt.

Re: Snowy Owls...
hey they are a bugger to find i have circled the area numerous time and find 1 on its on, they are all over the place as well, no specific area in winterspring, and usually flying quite low to the ground.Eldavido wrote:A note to the above poster who killed one with a crit. If you /camp after accidentally killing one, the pet will be back in it's spot, ready to fight and at the same rarity!
I picked that tip up from another post / forum somewhere, and have verified this actually works =)
Happy Hunting
if you alt f4 out if you kill it by accident and then log back in again it will be there

Aye, that's what I had hoped, but because it was a world server crash the whole lot reset.
Wasn't a happy bunny I can tell you.

Re: Snowy Owls...
I found one after a long exploring in Winterspring.
It just a poor quality so I trying to find another one for Rare, but after two round of full clear (exploring and kill every other pet that not Snowy Owl I met)
I still don't find the 2nd Snowy Owl anywhere. So I just end the run with a poor quality Snowy Owl.
Maybe I will come back and looking for it again in a free time.
What I want to say is, It's does exist but very very hard to find one.
