If you buy this pet from AH you still can learn it... but once learned can't cage it anymore

Nah it gets worse than that. If you learn the pet and you do not own the CE of the expansion the pet is unuseable. You cannot summon it, you cannot battle with it and cannot do anything with it. It happens after you log out of the game and come back.

Yes, I want to confirm this information.. The worst part about all of this, is that people reported that in the PTR this pet was already cageable, :S

I can confirm it first hand as I picked up one of the cheap ones on my AH to test it. At first the pet was learnable then I was able to cage it, pet battle with it and summon it. After an hour or so I started to see people saying they couldn't summon/use it. Later on I logged out fully out of the game and came back and it was unuseable.

So should a person worry about buying the DDE at this point ....and for 35k is it a collosal risk to buy a dread hatch on illidan horde?

Don't buy that... You can buy and learn the pet.. but you can't use it at all (you can't summon, you can't battle with that pet if you don't have the CE)
