Hi all, I've been lurking the site for a while and decided I wanted to say thanks to all those who made it happen. This is the definitive resource for pets hands down. Thank you and congrats!
On another note, I looked around and couldn't find an answer to a question I have (Maybe I'm just horrible with the search engine). I've been battling and collecting pets.. well over 100 battles and captures and I've noticed that I just don't get battle stones anymore. Of any kind. Is there something I'm missing? Do you stop getting them after a while for some reason that I'm not aware of? Or am I just THAT unlucky? If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks again!

Re: No more battlestones?
just bad luck. drop rate is low for them in wild pet battles. if want them more do the daily pet tamers if do them all usually 2-3 or more drop a day.

Re: No more battlestones?
Seems to me that the higher the level of the pet you are battling, the better chance for a stone drop. If you battle a wild pet or tamer with a level that's above your pet(s) then the % chance is also greater for stone drop.
Re: No more battlestones?
When I was battling 24-25 wild pets in Dreadwastes long term, my drop rate was close to 1/100. I find the tamers were a faster source.

Re: No more battlestones?
There is almost no doubt that the Pandaria tamer circuit offers a great chance for stones...far better than wild battles or pet PvP( I have had some stones drop from pvp- maybe 1 per 100 wins..numerous green stones)
Pandaria circuit I average -2 stones per run(best ever was 4)

Re: No more battlestones?
Thanks for all the info. Now I don't feel as though I'm making some critical mistake and missing out on the stones due to ignorance.
I must have been amazingly lucky prior to doing the Pandarian tamers. I love this site

Re: No more battlestones?
The drop rate on the stones from wild battles is really pretty awful. 1/100 almost sounds generous. To be fair I don't do a lot of wild battles anymore (mostly just to look for breeds) but I think I've gotten maybe 1 stone in the last few months that way.
Tamer bags are a far far better way to go, if you hit all of them you should net 2-3 stones a day on average.

As estimates go:Kel wrote:I'm always amazed when I see -I do good to get 1 a day, and more often than not, I get none.Digem wrote:. . . daily pet tamers . . . usually 2-3 or more drop a day.
"2-3 or more, most days" seems a bit on the high side.
"Usually none but sometimes 1" is definitely on the low side.
Try saving up the bags and opening them all together, or keeping a record of the stones you get. I bet you'll find it's more than you thought.

Not sure I'd recommend storing bags. In patch 5.3 they changed the way they drop stones:Graven wrote:Try saving up the bags and opening them all together, or keeping a record of the stones you get. I bet you'll find it's more than you thought.

At first I read this as a perk that would accumulate daily until you receive a stone and then not accumulate again until the next day. Perhaps it's just something that accumulates with each failed bag and resets with every successful one regardless of when you last opened a bag. Either way, I open my bags the day I receive them, just to be safe.Blizzard wrote:"Protection for bad luck streaks have been added to Battle-Stones from pet supplies bags and wild battles. Each bag or battle that does not provide a stone has a progressively better chance to award a stone to the player."
