So I have come up with a couple of teams that work well based on a "barrage" theme of abilities that continue after swaps.
Swamp croaker swarm of flies.. for undead pressure
Grinder rock barrage for mechanical pressure
Panderan Earth spirit rock barrage plus crystal prison for more frustration
Lil' Bling Make it rain for beast pressure.. .. eats up the snakes
Macabre Marionette Bone Barrage for Humanoid pressure
Alpine chipmunk Nut barrage for Undead pressure eats up valks
any chicken egg barrage for undead pressure
crab renewing mists heals for swaps
lil xt tantrum to tear up the whole team..
FYI each drip of a barrage counts as an attack, so when a bubble or decoy comes up, its is wiped out and 3 of the remaining rocks or whatever can hit.
i usually run with the first 3 pets and just drop the ability and swap out to next one. Seems that there is always one barrage doing great damage..
Obviously, the counter to this is a shield or a dust storm so be careful. But is fun to see em chew up the valk death adder teams.

Re: Barrage teams - Front pressure
I do enjoy Barrage-type teams, and they can even get past the whole shield negation problem with some debuffing. While not top-tier, these types of teams can open up a lot of different strats to cause headaches. One of my fave examples of this type of team is:
Macabre Marionette
Swamp Croaker
Scourged Whelpling
I am going to admit, I copied this team from a person that I used to run into a lot when I first started battling. While susceptible to shields, it can devastate teams without them. It has a good mix of delayed and direct dmg (undead and humanoid), as well a DoT healing with Plagued Blood. It is teams like this that really tap into the strategic aspect of pet battles, and I wish these type of teams were a bit more viable than they currently are. In order to protect against shields, you could swap out the marionette with a debuffer, such as Foreboding Flame, Chi-Chi, or Voodoo Figurine (among numerous others). You can also trade something for a Clockwork Gnome, Lil' Bling, or my favorite DoT pet, the Fel Flame. This sort of team will do well, even if the opponent has a shield, though high-health shielders will give it fits. Still, nice to have options.

Thanks for the reply,
I sometimes swap in an aoe heal now.
And, I have found most luck with the Pandaren earth spirit. The barrage is great combined with the crystal prison.
The clockwork gnome is a great idea

Re: Barrage teams - Front pressure
you mention barrage teams which have 3 pets which do multiple turn damage. cool concept
ive been looking for other "team types", do you know of a list here somewhere?

Re: Barrage teams - Front pressure
Tried this team out for the first time. Ran Lil Bling, Macabre Marionette, and a frog. Not gonna lie this team rocks! It's also a pretty good answer to the Murkalot issue due to undead and Mech racials. Unfortunately, one Anubis can almost solo the whole team though.
I queued 30 times. Got 14 forfeits, 12 wins, and 4 losses. All four losses came against Anubis teams. Most of the forfeits were lightning teams and Valk/DAH teams. If your opponent doesn't carry a shield, this team will chew them up. Nice one!
