how do i unlock pet battles in dragonflight?

I am a returning player to WoW after 4 years. The online info is not helpful. AI is telling me to purchase "The Battle Pet Training" skill from the Battle Pet Trainer in your capital city. I tried in Orgrimmar. Varzok didn't have it. Another online reference says i have to finish the Just Don't Ask Me" quest line to unlock it. That doesn't seem reasonable since it would take months to complete all those quests. I had all the pet battle and pet collection achievements up through Shadowlands including all PvP pet battle achievements (including 5000 pvp wins)-just to say i am not a rookie pet battler.

Originally you needed to complete the startup Campaign in Dragonflight to open WQs and see the daily pet trainer battles. And you're right, is a long, long grind working through each of the four zones. At least once a main has done it, is open for alts.

No idea if that has changed, but may be what you're seeing.

I agree with Ranok.

There has been no change to the Dragonflight system.

You have to complete the Dragonflight levelling campaign on at least one character to open the World Quests, including the Pet Battle Quests.

If you have a character to level, you could kill two birds with one stone by using it. The DF campaign will get you from level 10 to 70, so you might as well get the benefit of a new alt.

Thx to both of you for taking the time to respond. I did 5 levels in dragonflight. WQ appeared in the forbidden reach (a pet battle WQ and a fishing WQ) but nothing else. maybe i missed something with all the new content from DF, the war within, and undermine. thx again

Campaign quests are shown with a shield on it. I also think Forbidden Reach is a tad different than the rest of the DF. The main storyline starts in Org, sending u to the Isles, which starts you doing the Campaign quests in the Waking Shore.
