Sun Darter Hatchling

Absolutely beautiful pet, undoubtedly one of the prettiest in whole game :). Battlewise, with Blinkstrike, Ethereal/Ancient Blessing and, cherry on the cake, Consume Magic (not to mention that two of its core abilities "always goes first", that's awesome;)) it's really murderous pet. In experienced hands she might be very very dangerous. All in all, outstanding pet, well worth effort and/or gold spent in order to get her.

I cheated and bought it off AH  :D Totally gorgeous pet and have no regrets spending the gold!! Only thing I was a bit disappointed with is that it does not fly with you when you mount and fly up, it despawns  D: I was hoping it would match my Fey dragon mount when I was flying around... /sigh. A delightful dragonkin added to my collection!

Seems you can't cage it if you lvl cap it.

There are many pets that can double counter flying pets – for example, Nexus Whelpling.

This one pet, however, has Blinkstrike, what not only deals magic damage but ignores flying racial.

Bonus point for Consume Magic for all these cyclones, wild winds or shattering falcosaurs.

Just got this cutie--I did a practice run on the PTR before I attempted on live, as I didn't have the Perky Pug, but read in Wowhead comments that the puzzles could still be completed without the pug, providing you had the Ogre suit.  It worked fine on the PTR without the pug/with the Ogre suit, so I went ahead with the puzzle on live and had no trouble.  Practice on the PTR works great for this quest as your potions/mats will not be wasted if you screw up.

Farmed for 14 hrs to get the Potion recipes and the mats.  Got 4 of the the next day.  Follow the instructions on wowhead and you should have no problems.  I led 2 guildies in and only one of them glitched out (luckily I had extra pots for them). It is possible for multiple people to loot the egg at the same time.

What a great looking pet, I had a little trouble with my settings so the cave was way to dark and I kept porting out. When I finally figured out how to brighten my suroundings I had to re-do all my pots. got lucky and got the pet in the end.

Don't jump. Ever. If it's the tiniest bit of a fall, don't do it. You will get ported out. Have extras, in case you need to rebuff because you got ported out. It's hard, man. 

Word of advice, buy doubles of everything and make sure you didnt forget anything before entering the cave. I forgot the scroll of intellect and basically had to start all over because stuff start wearing off by the time I had a guildy make one for me and put it in the gbank. Thank god the dark iron buff last an hour but the rest were falling off. 

I love it! But why is it a critter when the other two are dragonkin? Kinda strange.

Got mine after an epic journey. Got the potions from the AH and then had to go to get the rest. An interesting pet with a wide variety of abilities, in a critter.

Can only be done once per toon, the egg will not show up if you have gotten the pet on that toon already.

As far as I know, there is no alternative to the pug, because the princess costume you need is specifically for the pug only. As far as a group effect, I don't know.

Is there an alternative to the Pug?  Don't have it...

If anyone on Mannoroth Alliance can whisper me, who is an Alch that can make the protection pots, i have the fire already and frost.  Name is Varanid, 110 Rogue.  

So I'm wondering if you're able to get another one after the daily reset(maybe weekly?). I have the mats to do the puzzles again but I'm not sure it's worth the risk. I'd have to go camp Scotty again. :(

Finally got it after a nightmare farming the recipes on my low level mage, after a solid gankfest non stop. Then had to refarm the dire brew the next day after a bug caught me in the cavern coming down in the ogre suit. I'm wondering if anyone has used the dark iron toy to transform and get in, however the second time on Day 1, I stealthed easily past that same watcher without the dark Iron buff. It's dark in the cavern, use a personal spotlight before entering to save falling off the path xx
