Community Meet-Up at BlizzCon
Unfortunately, none of our Admins were able to attend BlizzCon this year.
However, Marzena, one of our awesome MVPs and the baker and bringer of delicious murloc-themed cookies (pictured right) for the past two BlizzCons, has kindly taken on the task of hosting the WarcraftPets Meet-Up, giving attending pet collectors a chance to meet in person to talk pets, battle strategies and trading.
WHEN:
— Friday, November 6th
— From 3 - 4:30 PM (Pacific Time)
WHERE:
— Darkmoon Faire Community Amphitheater (check the tables)
Be sure to follow our Twitter and Facebook pages for updates and announcements as the event draws nearer!

Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void CE Pet — Zeradar Has Arrived!
November 07, 2015
A new pet recently arrived — Zeradar, the bonus pet from Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void!
Early Arrival
Players that purchased the Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void Digital Deluxe were greeted with a surprise in their inventories and in-game mail earlier this week.
Although the official release date of this Starcraft II expansion is set for next week on November 10th, it seems that Zeradar couldn't wait to join the Pet Battle ranks (much to many collectors' delight).
Collectors that purchased the physical Collector's Edition of the game will likely need to wait until the official release to redeem their game codes.
Fun Overwhelming
Zeradar has a few fun interactions. Targeting him and emoting /cheer causes his head to detach (pictured right) and spin around before rejoining his body. What a head turner!
Initially, Zeradar had lich-like vocalizations which was not intended. Developer Jeremy Feasel noted that it would be hotfixed, and true to his word Zeradar now sounds like a proper archon.
Feasel also hints that Zeradar, Grunty and the Zergling have an interesting interaction with each other. A Protoss, Terran and Zerg; what could go wrong?

Post-BlizzCon 2015 Wrap Up and Community Meet-Up
November 10, 2015
BlizzCon 2015 was an exciting whirlwind of previews and reveals for all Blizzard titles. We hope you enjoyed the celebration of all things Blizzard as much as we did!
Pet Battles Announcements
There wasn't a lot of pet discussion during this year's convention, however there were a few announcements that caught our attention.
New Charity Pet Coming Soon
Brightpaw, the adorable mana kitty pictured left, is a charity pet coming December 2, 2015. All adoption proceeds through December 31, 2015 will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Legion Digital Deluxe Pet Now Available
Nibbles is now in-game. Players that purchase the Legion Digital Deluxe pre-order ($69.99) will find this pet in their inventories upon logging in. Be sure to check out Nibbles' interaction with the Illidari Felstalker mount!
Overwatch's Promotional Pet
Blizzard's newest title, Overwatch, will have a promotional pet tied to the CE and Digital Deluxe version of the game.
Players that purchase Overwatch Origins Edition ($59.99) will receive a Baby Winston pet (pictured right) in WoW.
Note that although you can currently pre-order the game, this adorable baby ape has not been released yet. It will likely be available at a later date.
New Archaeology Pets In Legion?
During the WoW Game Systems panel, it was very briefly mentioned that archaeology would receive updates and new pet additions in Legion. No further details were provided.
Baby Moose Teaser
Last but not least, a teaser image (pictured below) was released during the Game Systems panel. It features two moose and their miniature counterparts. There has yet to be any confirmation that these bundles of cuteness will be available as battle pets, but we're certainly hoping!
We look forward to Legion beta (start date still TBA), and hope to hear more information on any Pet Battle changes and new additions. Stay tuned for future updates on pets in Legion!
WarcraftPets Community Meet-Up
This year's WarcraftPets Community Meet-Up was held near Blizzard's Pet Adoption section of the Darkmoon Faire area, a happy coincidence!
We had a great attendance — 50 people stopped by to say hello. Those that signed-in are now entered into our TCG giveaway raffle.
We'll be randomly selecting the winner of a BlizzCon 2013 pet code for Murkalot shortly. The winner will be notified via email today or tomorrow.
We'd like to thank Marzena for hosting this year's WarcraftPets Meet-Up.
Not only did Marzena organize this year's gathering, she also baked some delicious pet-themed cookies (pictured right). Frostwolf Pup, Cinder Pup, Lost Netherpup, Fel Pup along with paw print and battlestone cookies — almost too cute to eat!
Here are a few thoughts that Marzena wanted to share about the event.
Indeed, a big thank you to everyone that stopped by our Community Meet-Up.
We'll be posting all of the wonderful BlizzCon 2015 Meet-Up pictures to the WarcraftPets Facebook page, so stay tuned.
We look forward to the next BlizzCon and WarcraftPets gathering! And of course, thank you to ALL of our users for your continued support.

"This year we met up with a lot of wonderful new people and of course some wonderful regulars that have visited in the past!
It was great to meet everyone new and familiar and to discuss our favorite pets, ones we wish we had and ones we just obtained!
Thank you!"

Baby Winston In Patch 6.2.3 and WoD Digital Deluxe Retired Soon
November 17, 2015
Patch 6.2.3 is a very minor patch in terms of pets and Pet Battles. Only one new pet was added, but he's absolutely adorable — it's Baby Winston. [source]
Baby Winston Now In Pet Journal
Baby Winston (pictured left), the bonus gift for purchasing Overwatch Origins Edition or Overwatch Collector's Edition, was added to the Pet Journal in today's patch.
Despite its addition to the Pet Journal, this baby ape is still unavailable and cannot be collected yet.
Players that purchased Overwatch Origins or the Collector's Edition will likely receive this pet closer to Overwatch's official release which is set for summer of 2016.
WoD Digital Deluxe To Be Retired Soon
It was recently noted that the Digital Deluxe version of Warlords of Draenor is no longer available in the Blizzard store. This is significant for pet collectors since the Dread Hatchling is tied to the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition of Warlords.
If you're looking to collect the Dread Hatchling, fear not! You may still have a chance in the near future.
According to a blue post, a limited time sale will be held at a future date prior to Legion's pre-expansion patch.
It's currently unclear if the sale will include the full Digital Deluxe, or if the associated bonus in-game pet and mount will be stand-alone items.
"With the Warlords of Draenor Digital Deluxe retiring, we know there are many who would still like to be able to get their hands on the digital items that came with purchasing it. To address this desire, we will be making these items available for purchase at some point in the future. These will then be available for purchase until the pre-patch for the new Legion expansion. Please note, the option to purchase these items is limited to those who already have a Warlords of Draenor license attached to their account."
Be on the look out for any future announcements and keep an eye on the Blizzard store. You don't want miss out on your final chance to collect the Dread Hatchling!

Terky — Pet of the Month: November 2015
November 23, 2015
We're celebrating Pilgrim's Bounty this month. Instead of featuring the more obvious feathered-friend, we'll be covering a pet that's less enthralled with campfires — it's Terky!
Collecting Terky
Terky is the first un-themed baby murloc that is freely available in-game to all regions. Originally, she was only briefly available through an iCoke promotion in Taiwan.
To collect Terky you'll need to travel to Borean Tundra, Northrend.
Head south to the Riplash Ruins (55,88 for those that use coordinates), and find the north-eastern most tip of the largest island. It juts out like a sore thumb, you can't miss it on the map.
Find the tallest structure, a tall domed building, and locate the long window that faces directly east. Dive straight down into the water beneath the window. A small ways down you should come across a ledge in the water covered with green seaweed, two red coral, and a broken pillar.
There's a crack in the rocks just to the right of the pillar. Swim into this hidden entrance and follow the short waterway up into an open passage that leads into a cave.
Don't be fooled by the gleaming pearl resting atop the pedestal in the middle of the room. Terky's White Murloc Egg is actually hiding behind the decoy treasure, in a pile of rocks, bones and shells on the ground. Loot the egg and you'll have your very own baby murloc!
Terky was a wonderful and unexpected addition to the game, and although her arrival was a bit early for Pilgrim's Bounty, we're sure she would still appreciate an invite to the festivities. Just be sure to clarify which "turkey" is the main course.
Battling with Terky
Terky's moves aren't just adorable, they're also unique. Though there's no fight just yet where her inclusion is crucial it's easy to see where that may be the case in the future.
The easiest ability to make this case is Stampede. Already a clutch move, Terky and her fellow ultra-rare murlocs are the only Humanoids with an ability like this, and is also one of a very few Humanoids that supply the Shattered Defenses debuff as a result.
Terky can even make a decent combo here all by herself with her second slot damage over time ability, Acid Touch. Stampede's Shattered Defenses can turn into great synergistic combos with Lucky Dance for other pets, but she won't make excellent use of it all on her lonesome.
The rest of her abilities are fairly typical for Humanoids. Clobber is a single-turn stun which shares a slot with Stampede. Terky's first slot is either the Humanoid move Punch or the Critter move Flank. Flank has an opportunity for higher throughput if Terky is faster than your opponent and there aren't per-hit damage absorbs to worry about, but her slow speed means that Punch is usually going to be the better selection.
Terky is a fairly solid pet overall, though of course she's coveted mostly for her novelty. Murloc pets were exceedingly rare or otherwise expensive before she came along. This is one white egg — and one Terky — you certainly wouldn't want to have for dinner (unless she offered to bring the crescent rolls).
Check out our forum thread discussion on Terky and submit your own thoughts on this pet.
Battling Discussion on Terky
Pet of the Month is co-written by Liopleurodon, an experienced pet battler and long-time WoW player. She maintains her own Pet Battle blog and is a Pet Battle columnist on the fansite Blizzard Watch.
Legion Alpha: 67 New Pets, Updated Models, and 9 New Tamers
November 25, 2015
Legion Alpha is now available for testing for some players, and we dove straight into the Pet Journal to check out all of the new possible pets coming in the expansion!
Over 60 Datamined Pets
Currently there are 67 datamined pets, however keep in mind that many are still works in progress and some might not be implemented at release.
List of all Legion Alpha datamined pets
Some highlights include a Nursery Spider sold by none other than Breanni in Dalaran. Will this arachnid come with a tuffet, or is it too itsy-bitsy?
Two more familiar vendors will find their way to Dalaran, Giada Goldleash and Tiffy Trapspring from the garrison Menagerie.
They have three new pets waiting to be adopted, one being a Plump Cephalopod (pictured right).
It was pointed out by Ian Bates (aka: Red Shirt Guy) that this type of pet is actually a cnidarian and not a cephalopod, but it sure is easier to pronounce the latter!
Enchanters will be in high demand as they'll be able to craft three new pets. An Enchanted Cauldron, Torch and Water Bucket — now all we need is a clock and teapot to round out the cast of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
We'll find five pets from drops. An interesting new pet model is Son of Goredome (pictured left), who comes from a rare of the same name.
27 new wild pets have been datamined so far. There's even a Dust Bunny from Dalaran. Guess the floating city hasn't been cleaned in a while.
Four Legion quests will reward a pet each; two of which use an updated dragonkin whelpling model (example pictured right). Note that older whelplings have not been updated with this new model, but that could change in the future.
All of this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are 21 pets still unaccounted for, but we'll just have to wait and see where they pop up!
A New Expansion, A New Look
A few pet models are being updated in Legion. Say farewell to the current jagged, polygonal versions of the rabbit, rat, and squirrel. These pets will be getting a much needed make-over in the expansion (examples pictured below).
The Sprite Darter Hatchling and Magical Crawdad are also receiving small touch-ups, while staying true to the originals.
Check out Wowhead's huge screenshot gallery of the pets coming in Legion.
We have to wonder though, where is the little moose calf that was previewed during BlizzCon 2015? Hopefully it will be a collectible pet!
Testing Your Team
An expansion wouldn't be the same without some new trainers to challenge. There are currently nine NPCs listed as Grand Master Pet Tamers. One even has a unique title.
- Bodhi Sunwayver
- Bredda Tenderhide
- Durian Strongfruit
- Grixis Tinypop
- Master Tamer Wyrmy ("Super Epic Grand Master Pet Tamer")
- Robert Craig
- Shipwrecked Captive
- Sir Galveston
- Tiffany Nelson
It's exciting to see upcoming Legion additions and changes. We can't wait to discover more as testing progresses. Stay tuned!
