The [Bag of Fishing Treasures] that drops this pet can be obtained by completing the daily fishing quest [70]Crocolisks in the City. Level 70+ is required to obtain the quest, but a Fishing skill of 1+ is all that's required to complete it. Note that this daily quest is randomly available among four other daily fishing quests.
As of patch 3.2, the drop rate from the [Bag of Fishing Treasures] that drops this pet was improved significantly from around 2% to roughly 60%.
You get Toothy, Chuck, Muckbreath and Snarly from the Crocs in the City quest. It is a random daily quest from Old Man Barlo north east of Shattrath. I've noticed after getting a few of these buckets to drop, the drop rate drastically decreases from the 50% to next to nothing. I noticed they can now also be bought using Timewarped Badges earned from Timewalking dungeons from Cupri in Shattrath.
I have always kept up with my secondary profsessions, but this gave it a fun spin! Glad to have them all. Would really like to see a cooking (some kind of grease pet) and first aid pet (maybe a leech) lol!
For me Toothy has the best stats of the 4 crocolisks. I generally use Rip, Surge, Blood in the Water. Gives hard hitting and option to go first if that is more useful. Paired with Curious Wolvar Pup it's a great team. Just need to add something that can handle birds and/or avoid big hits, since both Toothy and the Pup are a bit vulnerable in that regard.
Hurts Elemenatls like no tomorrow and takes alot less damage from undead, Val'kyr for example. Very useful pet.
First time doing the daily fishing quest Crocolisks in the City, he was in my Bag of Fishing Treasures. 1 of my fav, great in battles.
Do you get the quest from the old man or elsewhere ?
Look out for other abilities that benefit from the Rip bleed effect. For example, all the crocolisks have Blood in the Water, and all bears have Maul.
Edit: Well... I threw away the buckets that I had been carrying (to remind Old Man Barlow which ones I don't need), and the very next time I did the fishing in Stormwind daily Toothy dropped. It might have been just RNG having a laugh at me, though.
