Despite its menacing appearance, the yellow-bellied bullfrog was aptly named.
I just found it as a secondary pet, just like everyone else said. WoD has been out for quite awhile. I got nine today, April 5th, 2016.Â
Post Draenor, this pet spawns as a secondary pet to any of the others in the zone. I have seen it with the gilded moth, water skimmer, civet, and eternal striders.Â
My meta is currently crowded with undeads. Mostly Graves + 2xweebos or even 3x weebo with occasional valks and whatnot. This frog of P/P build with tongue + heal + flies can easily solo most of those. All 3 of them. Without a single swap.
Don't mind the other pets on a team dying like flies to their aoe, you won't need them. Just keep the dot up, heal on cd and hope for enough extra hits from tongue. It *can* die sometimes to graves+weebo+weebo team, but not too often.
As noted earlier in the thread, this can still be found as a second or third to other pets in the area in WOD.
I cant seem to find this frog in the marked locations any more now that WOD is out. Â Anyone know where else it can be found?
This being the only frog with a P/P build, this means he's got the most powerful heal and water jet of the bunch. Â I highly recommend adding one to your stable. Â I consider him my go-to among my aquatic pets.
Somewhat underrated pet, saved me tons of times in PVP, with H/H build. Tanky and good against unborn val and elemental pets. Since Frog Kiss' proc is only 25%, a tanky build serves this pet well. Furthermore, against the launch of Death Addler Hatchlings everywhere, cleansing rain is a good skill to use between blinds! :)
This pet comes in 2 sizes - small and large. The small is the same size as most frog battle pets. Large is about 40% bigger, the same size as a Huge Toad.Â
Sizes should work like different colors on other pets and shoud stay consistent (if you tamed after 5.2). Sizes are not related to rarity or breed. If you find a bullfrog as a secondary pet, then forfeit to reset the battle, the size will reset so you can pick the size you want.
Above avarage health and strongest of the frogs with 309 power. Comes at a trade off so only 244 speed. This is even so slow that you won't often get bonus hit from Tongue Lash against Undead. So Water Jet, Healing Wave and Swarm of Flies is probably safest bet for abilities. Very useful against Undead and Elementals as all frogs, but with slow speed you need to make good use of the heal.
This seems to be the only p/p frog in the game.
I just found my first one of these and it was a rare. Unfortnately I realized after I clicked on it that I had the wrong team up from doing tamers. I backed out of the fight to reset it and right after I did, some NPC hawk came down and killed the bullfrog. I am not amused.
Got my rare off main battle! He can be found as a main battle at the ponds East of Golden Pagoda. Found un/common secondary to Eternal Striders also found at the ponds. Saw them on GC's but not near as many as Eternal Striders. After an hr of camping I got bored & started killing the non-battle yellow-bellied bullfrogs along the ponds & it was then that I started seeing them pop as main battles w/the non-battle ones-coincidence? Perhaps? But it worked for me!
Happy Hunting!
Has anyone found a rare? If so, where?
Appears as both its own encounter and as a seconday/tertiary battle.  Got mine as a tertiary from a golden Civet just south of the lake at Golden Pagoda.
