Pay attention to deer crossings. Even a fawn will total a goblin trike.
Found 2 rares while hunting for a Shimmering Aquafly in Val'sharah. Was an add-on to previously mentioned pet in a pet battle. I was able to solo it with a Golden Eaglet (24). Just watch out for all of the healing that it does.
Sadly these little guys are a waste of time. Very low on damage and speed... which you either need to have one or the other of to be useable for something. Because the Attack power is so low the heals suck and because the speed is so low you get to watch the other player decide how the battle will go.
Deer are not for battling. They are for running.
While looking for a rare Crested Owl, I ran across three Rare Fawn's at the same location, 55.6, 62.5, in Teldrassil. This is just south of the center of Lake Al'Ameth. If only the rare Crested Owl was this easy to find.
Good Luck!
I have used the Fawn in just about every batter so far...2 healing abilities (1 that helps all my pets) is a pretty huge help while leveling pets
Got a rare fawn when leveling in Elwyn, and she's been in my core group every since.
Just picked up a rare in Grizzly hills. She was second (or third) to a Grizzly Squirrel. Lots and lots of poor quality fawns, but hung in there and searched for a rare. Found her, she's awesome. Heals, hits like a truck, really good pet. She weakened to 20 on capture (was L21). Her stats look like this:
Rare
1100 Health
205 Power
244 Speed
And she's so, so adorable! About 1:20pm server on Whisperwind. Happy hunting!
Just captured a L21 rare just north of Amberpine Lodge as secondary to Grizzly Squirrel
I would recommend people to catch it in grizzly hills. It saves you the hazzle of leveling it a lot. Since in grizzly they are around lvl 20. They come in as secondary to the grizzly squirrel.
Happy farming! :)
The highest concentration of fawns seems to be outside the gates of Stormwind ( a sticky spot if you're horde), but you can also always trade in your lvl 1 for a higher lvl in Grizzly Hills.
