here is the thing; this egg does NOT EVER hatch, after 3 days in your bag this egg disappears ; you do nothing , the pet is now automatically in your pet companions roster. so do not go searching your banks or trying game masters. 

 

so while you are snoring your head off and blissfully unaware your pet poster gets one more pet automatically.

Critter to kill critters ;))). Will also do well against humanoids. All in all - decent pet, especially when buffed with speed :).

Found the vine and got the egg. We'll see what happens in three days  :)

Though it may change at SL launch, it is in Maldraxxus in an area called the "Forgotten Wounds"  You go to the area for a quest, and you will see a Treasure on the map.  It looks like a void vine.  Once you pull on it you go back and there is an egg on the ground.  Pick it up and in 3 days it hatches.
