This little piece of summer smells of warm evenings and lightning storms. If you look closely, you might be able to make out a face.
the image on wowhead almost led to me to believe that this was not the same as the captured flame consumable
Everything shows I have it, but it doesn't come up when I search pets for "captured" any ideas?
I'm a little miffed. I know for a fact that I farmed the blossoms for the spirit of summer a couple of years ago. I was disappointed, at the time, to find it was a wisp and not a little scorchling. However, the pet grew on me and I would run around with it on my nelf hunter because it reminded me of the whisps we turn into when we die. I have done two faction changes on this hunter since then and now this pet doesn't exist in my list anymore.
@Shiverina
Yeah, I also noticed this. The Captured flame is blue but the pet you get from it is green. I had this pet since before and also thought they changed it this year. Thanks to your comment I know they haven't. =)
"Captured Flame" is a Rare (Blue) item. When learned, you get the battle pet, "Spirit of Summer" an Uncommon (Green) pet. The pet can be upgraded to a Rare (Blue) battle pet via the stones.
I already had Spirit of Summer as an uncommon battle pet from years ago. I saw that Captured Flame is now blue and assumed it meant that Spirit of Summer would be rare. So I wasted 2 hours flying around getting blossoms to buy the Captured Flame for 350 blossoms.
@Glorpin, I use Spirit of Summer a lot, and regardless of how many times you inflict your opponent with Burning (from Flame Breath, Immolate or Scorched Earth), Conflagrate deals extra damage only once.
Question, if you use Flame Breath and Immolate so it's got two Burning dots, does Conflagrate do extra damage twice? Would be OP!
(obtained via Hallow's End)
Also used to have only a red glow wherever you went, now, changes its tint, depending on location.
