Touched by lightning, these dangerous rodents should be kept at a safe distance.
Once you've completed the initial Isle of Thunder questline which begins with "Allies in the Shadows" (for both factions) AND the island stops phasing everywhere you go - these become very easy to find. Before then they're very hard to locate.
I actually rather like this pet in pet battles and use it every now and then, with the ability set of tail slap, buried treasure, and beaver dam. Will spam tail slap until have lost at least third of its hp, then put up a dam and heal up with buried treasure while the opponent breaks through it, with that tactic it can last long time, and tail slap does hit fairly hard also.
I'm admired by the low use of this pet in pvp. I use Thundertail with the Unborn Val'kyr and Run-Lai Runt and i easly get a team with 70% win racio. One of my favotires.
I have never seen this pet as a secondary. I've yet to see a rare, but every poor and common quality version has had the same, balanced stat set. I'd love to hear from someone who has seen a different configuration.
This is definantly a Pikachu reference...
Its an electric rodent that learns Jolt, Tail Slap and Thunder Bolt...
I must get it.
I was running around exodar on a lowbie alt with my rare version of this pet out, then suddenly took 45 hits of 10-15 fire damage in the space of a second which nearly killed me. Given the pets tooltip I'm wondering if it's more than flavor text...
I found a poor one and after several hours searching for a rare I upgraded the one I had with a stone. I found a use for him: protecting Level 1 pets on their first power-leveling battle against 25s. Use the Beaver Dam ability, which blocks two attacks. While the dam is up swap in a Level 1 pet, who is shielded from one attack. Swap the Level 1 back out, bring out a killer pet, and finish off the group. The Level 1 survives that critical first battle, gains 4 levels, and is on its way to 25.
Was in a Nalak group and saw this little guy around the corner, first one, rare! Awesome!
Might have missed this but can he be a secondary spawn or does he have to be a primary?
After doing a pretty thorough round of the island my first time there, I was only able to find an Uncommon as my best. They're pretty well scattered, and more often on drier land than the Electrified Razortooth, both in the ruins and in the woods.
These don't spwn much. I went up to the cave NW by Thunder Forge, vein mines. There were 2 spawns out back of the cave. 1 was a rare! By the champion summoning stone, get thr by the water, ride up the steps to the mine.
"I was exploring the Thunder Island and ended up in a mine on the NW of the island on the back side. I walked through the mine, found a secondary exit, and found myself in the area just outside the Thunder Forge."
I did the same thing, except I didnt go into the mine(cave) I just started jumping on rocks and got lucky and was able to get into the unlocked Thunderforge area. where there are several spawns
These guy seems to be the least common spawn on the isle so ive had a hard time find a rare since many dont pop up
I picked up one poor one. Had an elemental stone already so I upgraded it then leveled it. Sort of a ho-hum fighter really, with all of the abilities having cooldowns, except for the one that misses a lot, and they are all sort of mediocre.
Of the four wild pets available on the Isle, the electrified razortooth is the best battler of the bunch.
I was exploring the Thunder Island and ended up in a mine on the NW of the island on the back side. I walked through the mine, found a secondary exit, and found myself in the area just outside the Thunder Forge. There was an uncommon Thundertail Flapper right there! So I am now the proud owner of one electrified little beaver!
saw a couple of these just a couple of hours ago in between court of bones and the hollow where you meet up with Taran. They may be working on them as they did not vanish and I walked up and got a close look at it before moving on.
these can be found in the swamp north of court of bones, currently they are phased but can be snagged before they phase out by either clicking in them really fast while running in and out of the phase or by making a target interact macro, only 1 - 2 seem to be up at a time, they are usually accompanied by 2 other random island pets and are in the same are as electrified razortooth, another nice new pet model.
If you are having a hard time catching this little guy due to phasing (you move in close and it disappears but you move away and it reappears) try to use an "interact with target" macro/button. I was getting really angry about not being able to get him, but finally tried this and first try I got him!
Find them behind the Court of Bones in the Wildvine Marsh, but they are phased out...
Electrobeavercupine. Cute - and random.
