Patch 9.0.2 | Posted: October 13, 2020
To spawn the rare that has a chance of dropping this pet, players must interact with the Pool of Mixed Monstrosities located South of Plague Watch Flight Master in Maldraxxus.

Defeated slime mobs nearby will drop an object that can be interacted with and carried to the pool. Adding 10 of each colored item, Viscous Oil (red), Miscible Ooze (yellow), and Mephitic Goo (blue), will summon the rare creature that can be looted once per day per character.

This pet has a variation. Two different skins.

I just summoned mine and I noticed it is pretty large for a slime (awesome), and it has bones floating in it. All the other versions I have seen online or on the AH are just plain yellow with a face. Can anyone confirm how rare it is to get the one with bones in it?

The Invertebrate Oil is already the crown jewel in any slime collector's pet collection(along with Living Fluid and Filthy Slime), but getting the version with bones in it.....sweet!

Been farming that rare all expansion so far and just today I got it. It's such a pain to even spawn that rare, yellow is extremely hard to find and is best to be done in a group.

If you want the pet for your collection, find a group and good luck. If you want it just because it is a slime and you don't care for the colour, there are a dozen or more slime pets you can get so much easier, like for 10g or less on the AH, don't waste your time if you just want any old slime pet.

To spawn the Oily Invertebrate, which has a low chance of dropping this pet, you must add exactly 10 each of red, blue & yellow oozes (looted from slimy NPCs of the same colours) to the Pool of Mixed Monstrosities in Maldraxxus. Because of the precise requirement, it's the most easy for a random player to mess it up.

Suggestions:

- Consider creating a group to speed it up.

- Leave red for last: red is the most common and random players are more likely to add too many.

- Yellows are mostly found north of the pool, while reds and blues are south, and most players will go south to look for oozes. So it's usually best to do yellow first. BUT: occasionally yellow slimes will also spawn to the south. If so, be careful about adding a lot of yellows too early as it's more likely a random player will add too many.

- Sometimes blues can only be found much further to the south.

- Consider initially adding only 9/10 of each colour and leave the tenth of each for the end, in case someone over-adds.

Cross Gazer and Willy are currently the only other pets with both Rot and a Critter attack to capitalize on the type conversion.

However, this one is an extreme pain to get. Not only is it a low drop chance off of a named that takes a lot of time investment to spawn, but the event that triggers it can be influenced by any player in the open world resulting in one of the other six named being triggered instead. Then you have to start over from scratch and try again and pray.

Is the ooze holding the bones in, or are the bones holding the ooze together?
