Patch 4.2.2 | Posted: October 18, 2011
The Creepy Crate is awarded at the end of a low level quest chain (Missing Heirlooms) that can be started by speaking with a NPC located in the Stormwind Trade District Inn (alliance) or the Orgrimmar Valley of Strength Inn (horde).
Players will be rewarded this pet regardless of the choice made at the end of the quest chain.
Level 0: 0 0 0
Previous owners of the crate have reported the disappearance of other pets from their collection.
It should have a lot of little legs in honor of Terry Pratchett's Luggage.
Sometimes I like to summon Creepy Crate, use my Suspicious Crate disguise toy and go out as Momma and Baby Crate.
This Hallow's End pet is surprisingly good, nice to have as a support.
It has a wide range of attacks and 1725 health, plus the Undead immortal round makes it a good damage spunge and dealer.
You can annoy a team with Death Grip and Bonestorm, and apply DoT's or heal after a kill to last another couple of rounds.
I don't like the sound he makes, it's a bit too loud, but it is funny to see him eat critters. Luckily he doesn't makes these noises during battles.
@Everyone, As far as I know, this pet is only offered through a questline on Halloween. As for repeatability I did get my second Crate this year but I didn't try to see if another char could take the quest as well. I am assuming that it was possible. If you missed it this year just make sure you focus on the Christmas pets coming up.
I can't find this pet at any of the listed Stable Masters. Is this pet only available during Hallow's End?
Was being sold by a stablemaster next to the usual pet rope. Is this how it is obtained now?
I never got this pet before and it appears the questline to obtain it is not available. Anyone know if it is only available to certain races?
I am constantly leveling new pets & have my favorites on my 25 line. I haven't used him much but I'm sure i will in the future. He was fun to level.
This creepy pet is truly solid. With 1725 health and undead racial you can more often than not get off two BONESTORMS, put up Curse of Doom at least once and then Chomp up the pet you are facing. This means you will have done considerable damage to back line pets, especially humaniods, and probably killed the one you are facing. Excellent starting pet. Critters will of course kill you quicker, and watch out for Prowl. Stuns are genenrally not much of an issue with such high health.
This pet is one of my FAVORITE battle pets. It eats critters. Take him out for a stroll once. I've seen mine eat a small frog and a emerald boa.
This pet is Uncommon. The only way you can get this little guy as a rare is to use a Flawless Undead Battle Stone or a Flawless Battle Stone.
new sound effects?
Pair the Death Grip ability with the Mechanical ability Minefield, like the Pet Bombling or Darkmoon Tonk has. Then Devour. You'll see this pet in a new way.
Too bad death grip and curse of doom are the same tier, CoD then grip another pet to the front and fight it while the other dies on the back row would have been sweet. As it is you can still DoT up a pet then grip another to the front while the DoT ticks.
loooove this pet!<3 enough said, him eating things cracks me up every time
Reminds me of that great 1982 classic horror film Basket Case.
This is a GREAT pet.
Battle pet-it has the ability to pull an injured battle pet back into battle. Companion-it will eat/kill critters. This ability helps both you and your guild with the achievement for critter kills. WARNING: if you have a quest that requires collecting critters, put it away or else you'll be competing with the crate.
Amusing-it expels green gas, licks the rim of the crate, flips itself, & devours a cow in one gulp!
Currently only available during Hallow's Eve.
The tooltip for the battle pet, Creepy Crate, ability Death Grip reads as follows:
"Deals x Undead damage and forces the opponent's lowest health pet to swap into battle"
- however I have found from playing wih it multiple times that it in fact does NOT force the oppoinent's lowest health pet to swap into battle, it is simply forcing a random pet into battle. I've watched as multiple times instead of it forcing the lowest health pet, it simply chooses which pet it wants willy nilly.
