For those of you missing Mini Thor...
1. Buy the Standard LotV. ($39.99)
2. Buy the complete collection DD upgrade. ($40)
3. Relog
4. Collect mini thor from your mailbox!
^ That should work for anyone with standard editions, HotS CE, HotS DD, and/or LotV beta.
No idea what happens if you buy LotV DD and then attempt the upgrade.
(GMs will probably still give you conflicting answers on if this works or not -- but if it doesn't, you should be able to get a refund.)

Heya, I sent ya a bnet friend request. Hrm. How to find a list... if you search each thing individually on wowhead, I'm sure you can verify these. Unfortunately, I don't know where to find a list, but I'll give it a shot:

"No longer obtainable" list (pets that can be obtained via code or as a caged pet, but the source is no longer available. Not including stuff that cannot be obtained at all like the Vampiric Batling < event gone & pet not able to be caged or region specific pets):

Cage-able in game pets:
Guardian Cub - $10 from blizz; players could AH/trade the item or the caged pet. Blizz has since stopped selling them.
Hatespark the Tiny - was a rare drop from Ragnaros during the Molten Core anniversary event.
Firefly HB, HS, BB (SS is still obtainable) - low drop from bogflare needlers in zangarmarsh.
Tirisfal Batling SB, BB (HS still obtainable) - Argent Tournament pet (40 tokens)
Gilnean Raven SS, PS, PB (BB is still obtainable!) - lvl 20 worgen (Each of these racial pets are only 1 pet per lvl 20+ worgen/goblin/panda).
Shore Crawler PP, HP (BB is still obtainable!) - lvl 20 goblin
Jade Crane Chick HB (BB is still obtainable!) - lvl 20 panda - HBs were only in the game for a very short time; MoP introduced these race specific, trainer learned pets... and 5.2 removed the HB availability. Despite that, HBs aren't nearly as expensive as Shore Crawler PPs or Gilnean Raven SSs.
* Iron Starlette (PP, HH, HP, PS, PB) - very obtainable - initially the quest for this was going to be removed at the start of WoD, but they made it so you can still do the quest line. (Including this since a lot of us thought it would be unobtainable.)

Trading Card Game pets (can be caged, redeemed from a code, & some bought from bmah). A lot of these are highly exploited, but the TCG was technically discontinued. I'll include the list just for completeness since it was discontinued, but in practice, these are still very obtainable.
