Perhaps it is merely testing, but there has been a ridiculous amount of inflation this expansion with garrisons, and they are always looking for new gold sinks, so I wouldn't be completely shocked if the prices stayed quite high. If not 1m for the pet, perhaps 250k, with the mount at 500k. Keep in mind there are already two vendor mounts at 100k (the yak and the alliance bike).Paladance wrote:Seems like a new gold cap testing.Savior82 wrote:Celestial Calf, 1 million gold... I surely hope this is a joke, and a really bad one.
Since the rare items shouldn't be cheaper than the handy ones, with a gold sink like that would it mean that TCG items are 10 times more expensive?

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
Well, I'm on one of the most populated realms where it's hard to believe in the inflation because of the undercuts here and there. (Savage Blood goes below 50g and I *deal* with it only because I put it in the stacks of 15, while Felblight has dropped below 100g back in September. Sorcerous elements have almost no value.)
There is also a lot of madness when it goes to the BMAH, but indeed: more gold means more willingness to outbid the others.
I'd also prefer "emptying the jackpot" slowly but constantly rather than throwing out big amounts of gold periodically (look the WoW Token/boosts problem). Maybe they'd just have temporarily raised the AH cut to 10%?
But let express themselves someone from a more, erm, standard realm.
---
I wonder how the quests will look like. Judging by the titles, we may shift away a bit from the standard "I'm a tamer and challenge you" formula, what IMHO has really started to get old!

Looks like as of now, they intend the prices on the Mad Merchant to stay that high, but they are still taking feedback.

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
A typo here -- the Celestial Calf's price is… even way higher than the current one.

It seems that Broot is Druid-only unless they can be caged. Hmmm.
There is a hope for delaying the PvP disaster. But I want him too!

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
Doesn't appear to be any giant pet-updates in today's Beta patch.
However I just wanted to note that Pet Battle World Quests have an updated pre-requisite -- to access the content you not only have to be level 110, but you also need at least Friendly reputation with (all?) Broken Isles factions.
If you go through each zone's quest line, you should reach the minimum reputation requirement easily though.

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
Interesting, this could explain why myself and others only saw 2 pet world quests yesterday. Do you know if this is per zone or an "all or nothing" unlock?

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
I believe it's an all or nothing unlock. All World Quests will be unavailable until you've met the minimum requirements. The map only showing 2 Pet Battle quests was probably an unrelated bug.Aranesh wrote:Do you know if this is per zone or an "all or nothing" unlock?

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
I believe you're right on that. And the bug seems to be a bit more extensive. Today I saw not a single pet world quest, while other people told me they saw them just fine. Strange and a little annoying. But well, beta is beta ^^

And one is going to get Pathfinder, aren't they?Quintessence wrote:If you go through each zone's quest line, you should reach the minimum reputation requirement easily though.
Any new info on journal/UI enhancing?

Not that I can see. Nothing's really changed with the Pet Journal or its UI at the moment.Paladance wrote:Any new info on journal/UI enhancing?
Searching Howl will still bring up pets with the ability Howl plus those that come from zones with 'Howl' in the name.
Revive Battle Pets still has an 8 minute CD. Not sure where our 4 min CD from the garrison is going to go, if anywhere. Would love to see it baked into baseline though.
Breeds still hidden and we'll need an addon to show them.
*shrug*

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
Just some info: In the Legion Datamined Pets link you have listed the Lurking Owl Kitten as "Bind On Pickup". As of last build it is not... I just bought one off the auction house. I have not finished the quest line, am actually working on it, but when I saw the end result in the AH, I couldn't resist.

Was the item on the AH the caged version or the actual item that teaches the pet?Dakender wrote:Just some info: In the Legion Datamined Pets link you have listed the Lurking Owl Kitten as "Bind On Pickup". As of last build it is not... I just bought one off the auction house.
Wowhead lists the item that teaches the pet as Bind on Pick Up, which seems to be pretty standard for a quest reward.

Re: Legion Alpha/Beta - datamined info
Well Poo I actually don't remember. Had a picture of the pet, wasn't a pic of a cage if that helps I thought I took a screenshot of the mail or my bags but I didn't. Just clicked on it and it added it to the rest of the pets.Quintessence wrote:Was the item on the AH the caged version or the actual item that teaches the pet?Dakender wrote:Just some info: In the Legion Datamined Pets link you have listed the Lurking Owl Kitten as "Bind On Pickup".
