You sir (or madam) are my newest hero. Question for you (or anyone else): can these be done on a non-110 character?Gráinne wrote:What you can do, before World Quests are open on a character, is work on Family Familiar.
Don't worry, from everything I've read, it would appear that Flummox is the one to skip since you only need 12/15 trainers. He is almost (?) impossible to beat with all 10 pet families. In fact, I have yet to see a guide that shows successful strats for him in this meta. I'm choosing to battle him when he pops, with whatever pets can beat him, and not worry about trying to include him in this achievement. Good luck, and if you do find strats that work for him, let us all know!Gráinne wrote:18.
And I missed Flummox yesterday because I didn't know I needed Nightfallen rep to see him.
Now watch him disappear for two months....

You need Nightfallen rep and unlock the Suramar daily world quests in order to see Flummox, and yes, he will be a green paw on your map when available.Buruan wrote:Anyone know the Rep requirement for Flummox?
And when he does show, will I see him as a standard Green Paw?
The way all of the Family Familiar subachievements work is you need to beat any 12 of the 15 tamers listed with a team consisting of pets from 1 family. Doesn't matter which 12 you pick.Darolyn wrote:The good news is, to my understanding, is that you can skip ANY three on ANY of the single family achievements and still get the meta, as each individual achievement is beat 12/15, then you get that achieve, and so on, so it's not "beat 12 of these 15 tamers with 10 families" it's "Beat 12 tamers with the same family" ten times.
At least, that's how I'm reading it. If Flummox is indeed not working as intended (I've only defeated him once, and I have NO idea if I used all the same family or anything), then you can pick any two tamers from each of the other achieves to skip, and it doesn't have to be the same ones.
Aulier and Varenne are also gated by Nightfallen rep. So the family familiar achievement is quite annoying to complete. Just want Durian and Ogdrogg to pop.Daedrynn wrote:You need Nightfallen rep and unlock the Suramar daily world quests in order to see Flummox, and yes, he will be a green paw on your map when available.Buruan wrote:Anyone know the Rep requirement for Flummox?

But a word of caution about Flummox. By all accounts, he is nearly impossible to beat with all families for Family Familiar, and worse than that, many people are reporting a bug where if they do actually beat him, they don't get credit toward the achievement. That being the case, I would recommend skipping Flummox. You can skip three tamers and still complete this achievement.
Indeed, they are locked behind quest chains - which in turn, are indirectly locked behind reputation. I believe you need 8k/12k into Honored to be able to complete the associated chains (Felsoul Hold, Twilight Vineyards and Menagerie).Darkchyld wrote:I think max you'll need is honored. But I think you need to do the story line associated with Varenne so the vineyard area. Haven't seen Aulier yet, but wowhead comments are what I was basing it off of. And Flummox was stated previously here.
