Epic to Poor
So on several occasions I have found epic quality pets and gotten so angry because the second I was able to begin the battle the epic pet turned to a poor pet. Haas anyone else had this issue? I have had it happen with rares as well. However, it is much more frustrating when it happens with Epics. I have submitted tickets and bug reports about this and the only response I receive is "Blizzard developers are working on this problem"....

Re: Epic to Poor
there are no epic pets outside of what the trainers have. You cannot acquire them at this time. you are probably experiencing a lag that shows the previously battled pet team rarity for a second before it corrects itself. after battling a trainer you engage a random pet and for a second they look legendary because you fought a trainer (or epic if non panda master). The best you can get is a rare.
long story short, its lag and after a second your UI will show the correct rarity of the pet you engaged.

Re: Epic to Poor
It's not a problem, it just takes the UI a second to interrogate the actual quality.

Re: Epic to Poor
The four times I have found them (including today) was well before battling pet trainers. I have also found epic pets on the Alliance Auction House on Hyjal. However, I am not spending 35K for one.... I have also experienced this with rare pets as well. I begin a battle and one of the pets starts out rare, when I can actually press a button to attack the pet turns poor.... When speaking to Blizzard about it they simply say "We know the problem exists and our developers are working on it"

Re: Epic to Poor
There are epic items that "on use" teach you rare quality pets.

Re: Epic to Poor
1.) There are no Epic-quality battle pets available to players.
2.) Occasionally a UI bug will cause a wild pet to appear to be Epic when it is not.
3.) Players are unable to obtain Epic-quality battle pets.
4.) Pets do not spontaneously change rarity during a battle.
5.) The GM's are no doubt talking about the aforementioned UI bug.
6.) Epic-quality battle pets are not available to players.
7.) There are epic items that teach pets, but the pets are not Epic-quality battle pets.
8.) Battle pets that are available to players cannot be Epic-quality.

Re: Epic to Poor
Correct on all points except for #4 kinda - sometimes due to lag you will see a wild pet change breeds/rarity just before the battle begins.
Re: Epic to Poor
This isn't the pet changing breeds or rarity though. It's just a display bug.Softnsquishy wrote:Correct on all points except for #4 kinda - sometimes due to lag you will see a wild pet change breeds/rarity just before the battle begins.

Ha! I've seen the blue border around thier portrait change to grey or white pretty often. It's made it more exciting for me when they stay blue, causing a double take.
