Kovok Pheromones Question
[ability]Pheromones[/ability]
My question pertains to the fact that Kovok is from the "Beast" family of pets. The Beast family of pets deal 25% extra damage when below half health.
I understand that if the ability is applied before this triggers the damage will still update; however, I am unsure about this next part which is my question.
Assuming Pheromones is out and Kovok dies; will Pheromones do 25% more damage since Kovok is under half health...
Or
will Pheromones do normal damage since Kovok is dead.

Re: Kovok Pheromones Question
I'd think that it would still get the boost as a dead beast still has the racial beast buff.
Re: Kovok Pheromones Question
Not looking for opinions here. This happens on my last post... People would just post their opinion on the question... Not trying to be a "meanie" but if you don't know... Thanks for taking a look at my question.Kpb321 wrote:I'd think that it would still get the boost as a dead beast still has the racial beast buff.
Re: Kovok Pheromones Question
When he dies, the corpse retains the buff, and any damage attributed to him is boosted by it. The same thing happens with many other buffs, for example the dragonkin passive or the various +25% damage buffs such as Roll/Roar--and they also don't properly expire in this case, ie the corpse's damage will benefit from the dragonkin buff for the remainder of the battle.

My question:
If Kovok is full health when Pheromones is cast and later Kovok goes below 50% health is the beast buff applied sort of retroactively but to future damage of course?

Re: Kovok Pheromones Question
Yes, persistent damaging effects update their damage to reflect new buffs/debuffs. So if e.g. Kovok casts Pheromones at full health (it ticks for 140), then later he drops below 50% health, the Pheromones will update and tick for 175.
Re: Kovok Pheromones Question
Good news is, its not just you. Its somewhat hard to come by still. From what I've seen in the PvP queue and been able to gather its pretty rare.Shikon01 wrote:everyone seems to have one,but me.
