How do I get around this (auctioning)?

Something recent I've got a problem with. I can't put up for auction a pet if I already have 3, now not even when I Cage 1 to learn the new one. Used to be able to, to sell it. How do I get around that? Thank you guys!

It depends on the pet itself. Wild pets only caught through pet battles cant be caged like the Unborn Val'kyr. Soulbound pets, like the Pandaren spirits, can't be sold. However, once you learn it, you can right click it and place it in a cage to be sold. Other pets, like the holiday pets, can be sold as it is without learning it

Hmm, that is odd. Haven't come across this bug myself. You say it won't let you list a pet on the AH if you already have 3 of that pet in your journal?


*edit* Just tested on my pet trading alt, seems to work fine for me. Was able to list multiple pets for sale while having 3 more of that pet learned in the journal. Maybe your problem is addon-related. Which pets does it affect?

Do you then recage the one you used to learn?

One thing I have noticed, or at least this is the experience I've had, is that you can't sell an uncommon (green) pet that is above level 15. I has to be rare above lvl 15 to list on AH.

When the Marionette came out I speed leveled one to 25 as fast as I could so that I would be the 1st to list a lvl 25 Macrabre on the auction house. But because it wasn't rare it wouldn't let me list it. I've seen several lvl 25s on AH since; but NEVER a green one at lvl 25. I see a lot of uncommon lvl 1s.

I think Blizzard did this because past lvl 15 the pet loses a few levels once you stone them. So they have to be blue if they're above 15.

So if by chance the pets you're trying to list on AH are Uncommon, and above lvl 15...

That must be new then, because I have seen a level 25 green [pet]Macabre Marionette[/pet] for sale in the auction house.
