Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
1. Spec BM
2. Bring Chimera. Spam Frostbreath to freeze.
3. When Vicidious is frozen use Snake trap and pet cooldowns to shatter. (you want to time the snake trap well so that you get max benefeit)
easy peasy!
Chimera pet & Snake Trap is the trick.
Worked as 89 Hunter in dungeon blues and quest greens. (Sadly no drop... RNG!)

thanks for this, did not think of the Chimera at all!
this will make future runs much easier (as in no need to ask a mage friend to come along)

Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
You're a genius, I never thought of that!
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
If you have the rep for it, Brunnhildar Bow also works. It's cheap, and just in case you don't have a frost pet or BM.
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
Same strategy worked for me, but I just wanted to add...
If you head there unprepared like I did, the two closest tameable Chimeras are rarespawns in Feralas: Prince Lakkma and The Razza. But Feralas isn't exactly heavily trafficked these days, so they're fairly likely to be up.
I didn't think ahead on the frost thing, so after seeing what was closest on Petopia, I popped up to Feralas and Razza was sitting there waiting for me, lol...
Lakkma is the only source of the meat for Dirge's chops though, so 90s will still occasionally travel out of their way to kill him, but I imagine Razza sits relatively untouched most of the time.

Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
My strat was literally: tame chimera. I didn't do anything special, didn't use a single cooldown, trap, etc. He still shattered and died just fine.
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
Also, if you're a badly geared 85 like mine was and you need to bandage while he's shattering, PLEASE skill up your first aide... I hardly ever play my hunter except to farm leather and all I had in my bad was regular... yes REGULAR frostweave bandages, HA! It took forever to kill him but he died finally, no pet though.
Went in on my frost DK and he died in under 2 min, le sigh. (No pet either)

Long time member, first time poster. I must say thank you immensely for this tactic. I had some difficulty but I indeed got him down but no drop. I must thank you again for the tactics, your a true pal!
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
stupid question on this guy. i have used the chimeara and got him frozen down to 1% health, then i read that it takes x number of melee attacks to kill him. The question is does the melee attacks stack so that i can serpent trap him 2 times then work or do i freeze him and then just stand there?
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
@Tatra It's not melee attacks, just attacks...I just downed him last night with my Chimera and I didn't use a trap or anything. Just kicked off my pet cooldowns and continued my rotation and he fell at my feet offering himself up as tiny little version of himself.
As stated earlier, if you really want to make sure chuck down a snake trap.

Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
Are you absolutely sure about this? Cause if that is true, they changed that aswell. I do know that in 4.3 patch, it had to be melee attacks.Talmar wrote: It's not melee attacks, just attacks
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
It's physical attacks, melee or ranged.
Re: Hunter solo Vicidious tactic:
i guess the first week the raid pets were out somehow he was bugged for me. used a chimera and still couldn't down the guy. however tonight on a different hunter downed him and got the pet woot!!
