You should definitely let them know it's undertuned. It's especially silly if they put up Arcane Storm and then use stun-dependent moves.

Are these repeatable? That's different from the current tamers.

Yea, they're currently repeatable. The garrison is a bit buggy, though, and I'm not actually supposed to have the trainers show up in its current state.

I believe once things get sorted out and WoD goes live, it'll go as follows: reach level 98, upgrade your garrison to level 3 (or upgrading to level 3 might come earlier, I'm not sure), unlock + build the pet menagerie, and then the pet daily + trainers will start appearing. I'm guessing at that point they'll function like normal trainer dailies, where you can't engage in battle again once you've completed/turned in the daily.

Then again, I could be wrong. The garrison battles are flagged as "legendary" (orange paw print) and we can currently battle the legendaries over and over. Not that there's much point.

I forgot to mention, that if you want to get by mobs with high aggro range, the Scuttlers shells from Timeless Isle are very useful. I took my level 92 to the area with lvl 100 mobs in Shadowmoon Valley and they saw through my stealth and stomped me into the ground. I used a scuttler's shell and was able to slip by undetected.

Also, I've noticed that every character I took to the Teroclaw nests got the Grovestrider hatchling on the first looting but never got another one after that. I'm going to try more characters to see if its a fluke. It may be set in such a way that each character can only loot it once, but I'm not sure.

Blizzard stated that rares will drop their thing on first kill for everyone in WoD, but wont drop anything after and will only show as an elite after you kill it once on that character.

Well, all of the toons were wiped from Beta so I'm starting out anew. Grovestrider Hatchling has been removed and replaced with Teroclaw Hatchling. Same abilities but different name.

With the level 100 premade servers up, you can easily test out the Pet Menagerie in the garrison. Just talk to the giant NPC that you spawn in next to. Go through all his chat options and he will automatically upgrade your garrison to max.

To finish building the menagerie, you have to complete the quest Pet Versus Pet. The three pets you have to defeat are all legendary and have the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/petability=1089]Boss[/url] passive.

As with all "boss" pets, stacking increased damage debuffs on them works best. Especially on Gnawface, who not only has the Boss passive but also uses [ability]Crouch[/ability], meaning it's immune to unbuffed damage for 3 rounds.

Defeating each one causes them to despawn/disappear; you can't fight them more than once unless you abandon the quest.

Once you turn the quest in, your menagerie is fully built and then the pet battle daily becomes available. The objective is to simply defeat whichever trainer battle shows up at your garrison each day. It currently rewards x4 of the new leveling battling-stones. Not sure if the family of the stone changes daily, or if the reward will always be stones for the Beast family.

One good thing about the wipe, if you had got any of the new pets in the previous builds they are still in your pet journal :)

Day 2 (post-wipe) at my garrison menagerie: Tirs and Fiero (all legendary)

Image

No team-wide buff. Just hard hitting pets.

Compared to the previous menagerie battles, I found this one to be a decent challenge. Both pets hit hard and use their attacks well.

I'm not confident that my team was the best against them, but it worked the multiple times I faced them. My team consisted of: [pet]Swamp Croaker[/pet] (B/B but I think H/B might be better, 1,1,2), [pet]Spawn of G'nathus[/pet] (1,1,1), and [pet]Emperor Crab[/pet] (H/H 2,1,1). Breeds are just what I had in my Pet Journal, so don't take what I used too seriously. :P

My main goal against Tirs and Fiero was avoid/survive their large hits ([ability]Pump[/ability] and [ability]Cataclysm[/ability]), and use strong attacks against them (both are elemental).

The fight against Tirs goes pretty much as expected. He uses [ability]Acid Rain[/ability], [ability]Pump[/ability], Pump, and then alternates between those two abilities and [ability]Renewing Mists[/ability] (but he doesn't recast mists if its still active on him, smart). My Swamp Croaker can squeak by this first encounter with just a smidgen of health left for the next pet.

From there, though, I'm not 100% sure which pet would be best to bring in. Spawn of G'nathus or Emperor Crab? I played around with using both as the second pet, but settled with the crab the majority of the time. G'nathus' [ability]Swallow You Whole[/ability] ability came in handy towards the end of the fight (if my crab died, which it did the majority of the time but it depended on whether or not Cataclysm hit).

I hope someone else can come up with a better team for this fight. I'm able to defeat them using what I've listed, but only just. It would be nice to have a more robust team for a more confident win.

Use magic, like [pet]Legs[/pet] that has aquatic abilities like [ability]pump[/ability], or snails, with [ability]dive[/ability].

I was thinking about Legs, but Fiero uses Cataclysm which is strong against magic pets.

A bunch of snails might be my best bet, although there was a [url=https://twitter.com/EpicGems/status/493060563971629057]mention on Twitter[/url] that Spawn of G'nathus can take out both legendaries with a properly timed Dive + good RNG against Fiero.

I just did this part. Gnawface was pretty easy with a pair of raptors. I think my first raptor would have soloed him but bloodfang missed because of darkness otherwise Black Claw/Hunting Party did a number on him easily. I just used a darkness team on Gorefu and it won pretty easily. Failed the first try to silly mistakes. Used darkness first turn which then got overwritten by mudslide and used Nocturnal Strike on the second pet when darkness wasn't up and missed. Second time round it was easy. Carrotus Maximus on the other hand was a bit of a pain. When he spammed Iron Bark it was really hard to do any damage. I ended up using three striders and trying to time unleashing of Pump for when Iron Bark was down. Beat him but it didn't really fee like a reliable team.

I opened with Legs (2/1/2) and it worked well. The Magic racial means that Tiris is going to need three pumps to kill him which is plenty of time for legs to finish him. In my two attempts he got off one attack both times which would mean Surge of Power would be the best option but I always did Whirl Pool and hoped I'd get surge of power off. At that point Fiero isn't too hard to finish off with two pets with aquatic attacks. I had a Croaker and Spawn as my last to pets and it always worked but I'm not sure they are the best options. Feels like with the right pet you could two pet this fight.

LeCraft Tweeted that Crouch on Gnawface [url=https://twitter.com/TheCrafticus/status/493156523053301761]is a bug[/url]. Replaced it with Comeback. Good thing cuz I mean, 100% reduce damage three rounds is just silly :P

For Tirs and Fiero, I went with a revised team: G'nathus and Swamp Croaker (same ability choices as previously mentioned).

Thunderbolt round 1, Dive round 2, and then Swallow You Whole until Tirs dies. Use Dive once it's off of cooldown. Fiero will have just a little bit of health left as G'nathus dies and the Swamp Croaker easily finishes him off. This strat made the fight much easier.

New pet drop confirmed: Netherspawn, Spawn of Netherspawn drops from a rarespawn named Netherspawn. Spawns in Nagrand, in a pool of water south of Oshu'gun.

Rare quality when added to the Pet Journal. After you kill Netherspawn and loot it, he no longer shows up as a rarespawn and killing him again yields only vendor items. Looks like one pet drop per toon.

Yea, this pet is cageable. Most (if not all) of the non-wild pets are cageable in WoD so far.

Got pics of the 3 boss fights you have to do for the quest, these are on Horde side, found in the cave behind the Garrison, Gnawface is actually running around inside the garrison area..

Unborn, Water Spirit, Chrominius team did the job

Unborn, Water Spirit, Chrominius team again on this one did the job.

Really? It wiped all of my WoD pets. :-(

Now I need to level up and try to get the other pets. I've got a macro that does coordinates so I'm going to try to log spots with coords.
