Hello,
So now that some of us have finally done the awful adventure to obtain him, would you like to share the set ups you came up with to beat the most challenging ones? Or at least those that you remember for a particular reason .
Note: If you followed a guide just refer to it if you still want to participate. I'd rather have the teams born in your own mind by chance, desperation or just enlightenment!
I'll list my team for:
Celestial Tournament:
Cho: Emerald Proto-Whelp + Flayer Youngling
Goldbloom:Nordrassil Wisp Nether Faerie Dragon + Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling *
McLeary: Alpine Foxling Kit + Chi-Chi
Kiryn: Crawling Claw + Tiny Snowman

I bet you'd like my flayer, too. (actually I need to catch and stone an S/S, I'm running an S/B at the moment).Beast_mast0r wrote:Yeah yeah, I like my flayer!

I haven't completed the achievement yet, but I've used the [url=http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7556]5.4 Guide to Master Tamer (levelling) + Beasts of Fable[/url] for all of the non-Timeless Isle parts in Pandaria. Posting it mostly to keep this site's resources on everyone's radar before all of the wowhead / elfuego / murloc harbor links go up (all of which are good resources for all of the fights, if you care to check them out - lots of good people out there). If I come up with anything on my own I'll certainly throw it up, but because it's a once only for much of it I'm not expecting to think too hard on the fights.
Re: Trunks' owners: Share your own set ups
I can offer one tidbit. The[pet]Soul of the Forge[/pet] proved to be really good at dealing with Shademaster Kiryn's wolf and mechakitty.

Rendigar: Holy big guide batman! I'll take a look at it. You know? The flayer also works with the "new" accuracy + 25% speed/hit and crit isn't bad
Luciandk: Yeah, I didn't have it all leveled up and didn't even consider using it, now that it look at it more closely, it is veeery tanky. Besides has the stoneskin + heal. I was close to go that way, my search was heal + cleans objects, hence tried the water waveling, and was tempted with the lava crab(but no survivability). The reforge ability makes it last looong, I guess.
Topaz: You also added breeds and abilities

I was amazed at how useful the Ruby Droplet was in this process
Re: Trunks' owners: Share your own set ups

Celestial Tournament Week 1:
Wise Mari: Gilnean Raven/Mech Pandaren Dragonling (modified slightly from a posted strategy on wowhead)
Shademaster Kiryn: Lil' Ragnaros (magma trap/magma wave to stun Nairn, swap and kill Stormeon)/Anusabith Idol for clean up
Blingtron: Spawn of G'nathus/Crimson Shale Hatchling (this was a real pain for a while since I did not have a lot of the alternative pets fully levelled.)

Flayer Youngling - Blitz/Deflection/Kick (S/S breed)
Any rabbit with more than 300 speed - Scratch/Dodge/Burrow
I used these pets to carry my plushie and won. Thanks. Note: Rabbit goes in slot one versus the undead. Flayer goes in slot two, finishes fight vs. the dragonkin and takes out last pet.

Re: Trunks' owners: Share your own set ups
Managed to complete this week's Celestial Tournament. I admit that I tried to find some guides, but I've never been one to focus on pet breeds or anything, and all the guides were adamant that ONLY a P/P or this or S/S or that would work. And I didn't have that. BUT, I got it done; here's my list:
Taran Zhu: [pet]Crow[/pet] + [pet]Ghostly Skull[/pet]
Chen Stormstout: [pet]Darkmoon Zeppelin[/pet] + [pet]Stonegrinder[/pet]
Wrathion: [pet]Infected Squirrel[/pet] + [pet]Scourged Whelpling[/pet]
I didn't write down what I did, but for Chen and Wrathion, I used the Elekk to eat up some damage, and he died for both of them-- so I didn't win the Tournament, but did get credit for all 3 trainers.

Re: Trunks' owners: Share your own set ups
I couldn't get the above combo to work, but I did have a fairly easy time when I replaced the Scourged Whelpling with the Anubishi Idol. The squirrel ALMOST finished off the undead lead-off pet, leaving only its undead bonus round. When the squirrel died I brought in the plushie and let him soak up the undead round and the timed attacks hanging. Once those had all been dumped on the plushie, I brought in the Idol and used Sandstorm. I deflected anything big coming at him and used his basic attack to do all the damage needed to take down the last two pets.Principa wrote: Wrathion: [pet]Infected Squirrel[/pet] + [pet]Scourged Whelpling[/pet]

Re: Trunks' owners: Share your own set ups
I do remember the squirrel bit-- I did Creeping Fungus, then Stampeded... twice. The stampede lasted just long enough to get the double damage for 2 rounds onto pet number two, who then was completely owned by the Scourged Whelpling's Call Darkness. Then I swapped over to the Elekk to wait out all of the debuffs that were up, and finished up the last guy with the Scourged Whelpling. It took a few tries to finish it, but I did get it to work. I'll try it again sometime though, to make sure that it wasn't just RNG for me!Vetteranger wrote:I couldn't get the above combo to work, but I did have a fairly easy time when I replaced the Scourged Whelpling with the Anubishi Idol.
